Yeah. Well I confess, I love the music in it and the timing of the edits. Outshined is one of my favs.
It is kinda overdone (in a way) but I thought it captured the emotion of kiting pretty well. The camera shots were crisp with color etc. I liked how he said "I am just bullshitting" about the kite, that cracked me up and the Beavis and Butthead thing about your kite sucks was funny too. All the moves he does are so far over my head, that I wouldn't watch the vid to learn (like Billy does). I just watch for a "Rocky" type inspiration. |

pretty damn amazing all around..
tho i agree with tom that seeing the full trick does give me more of a WOW than fancy editing.. but then again, this is some seriously top quality production work. edits are amazing and they really showcase the sport. probably the best video i have seen that captures the raw power of kiting.. for some AMAZING footage of complete tricks.. this one cant be beat: http://www.kiteforum.tv/component/op...025/Itemid,30/ the kiteloop Len10 does at about the 2:06 mark is simply jaw dropping. can you imagine rocketing across the sky like that??? and hes in breaking surf too. WTF?!??!?!?! |

another good one.....
http://forum.bestkiteboarding.com/viewtopic.php?t=5024 this one has some really clear shots of how to hit certain tricks, and you can go through it one frame at a time...

hmmm.
kgb mobe etc.. all look like the same trick over and over and over again. i know how insanely difficult these are and how amazing Alvaro is but its just not pleasing to me to watch over and over again.. jump, spin, pass, land. jump, spin (a little different), pass, land.. wash, rinse, repeat. as a spectator, i'd take one of Billy's 40 foot board-offs any day. |

Speaking as a spectator of course because I can't do anything these guys are doing. |

These are some reasons I liked the other video more than most.
I get really, really bored with most videos out there. Especially when the guy looks like a dot under a kite (shot too far away). Since I dabble in editing, I was blown away by the editing and cinematography. |

i like how powered ruben's riding is. he goes HUGE all the time. Alvaro typically keeps jumps lower and spins like a top. I think Aaron Hadlow is combo of the two.. incredible smooth tricks w/ power.
i dont think folks here realize how lucky we are to have the quality of local talent that we are used to seeing. couple saturday's ago i got to watch Billy, Scott and Noel (Best rider who frequents from the Keys) going off when the wind picked up. it was like an impromptu boosting competition with these three. I'll bet it was not even intentional, but to the onlookers it was pretty frickin awesome. still, my fav trick from local rider is a transition that Jayson does. its like a quick spin downloop/frontroll transition but is done so smooth and effortlessly. |
