Hi guys. I've recently become interested in kite surfing, and from what I've read on here it looks like the Lower Keys would be a decent place to learn. I planned to take a flats boat out into the Bay with one of my friends that also wants to learn. Is that a good plan?
Any suggestions of what gear I should start with to learn on in this area? Should I buy a trainer kite first, or just start out in the water with a real kite? How long does it typically take to learn to kite surf? Also, I've never used one of these kites before, and I am unclear if it is possible to go into the wind with it, like to basically end up where you started, or do you just have to swim/walk back? Thanks Ek |
