Cabarete in March
I'm heading back to the D.R. in March and wouldn't mind having a couple local kiters around. Anybody interested in joining? Cabarete? ...wind...wind...wind...more wind...

March is our best month, otherwise I would consider.
We went to Puerto Rico a couple years ago during March... it blew (howled) every day here, we got skunked in P.R. (not one day above 12 knots) Still had a good time, but I learned my lesson. Anyway, that's our best month here (usually... who knows anymore) |

We will be in Cabarete near the end of March. When are you going? -Chris

Cabarete is not windy consistently in march. Summer is their season. Got skunked-not one day of wind in feb 05. Vela touts it as windy then but do an archived search and you will find the opposite. Stay in FL that time of year.

The wind is just fine in March, no worries there. I've been there during the Jan-March period and the wind was consistent with everything I read (15-20+knots everyday). There's no waves during the summer, only wind. Winter offers both. Chris, I'll be there for the month of March, no worries there either!
"January – March: on average about 80% of the days great wind. Sometimes light (14 – 19 knots), sometimes strong (20 – 25 knots). Great waves!! (also spots with flat water for those who don’t like waves) (also waves every day during the rest of the year, but the most days with higher ones from Dec - March)" |

We went last year and out of the 8 days, only one day had no wind. Each day was hitting 20+ knots and the waves were epic out by the reef. When we did arrive, we were told that they had been going on a week of no wind and we just happen to get lucky.
I guess no matter where you go you cant always count on wind. http://www.laureleastman.com/windweather.php
