9-day Litewave / Globe tour Jan24-Feb1
Hi to all my Florida friends...past, present and future. Happy New Year
I will be back Jan24-Feb1 for my annual Florida winter-tour and visit to the Jupiter Kite Invasion . I planning on hitting Tampa area first, Jan 24th, then headed down the east coast and ending up at Jupiter the next weekend. Jan31-Feb1. ...wind dependent. Of course, I will have the 2009 Litewave equipment and the new Globe Kites and super cool new innovative bars with me. You've never seen a depower system as cool as this. We improved the KPO system and have a new wood-core board called the 'Spirit'. Please hit me up for a demo. I'm looking forward to it. Northern California is cold and windless this time of year. -Litewave Dave www.litewavedesigns.com www.globekites.com |

So is anybody going to show up? I'm planning on going to East Beach, St. Pete on my first stop, Saturday Jan-24th.
If there's any weather gurus that would give me a heads up, I'd appreciate it. Try some gear...get a beer. <--that's my motto. -Litewave Dave |

Hey Dave,
Welcome to Florida. Saturday is way off in the future regarding forecasts. They usually don't start to gel into place until about three days off and even less. Right now it is looking light and easterly on Saturday for St. Pete per NWS. Thermals can come out of almost no where regardless of what the forecast is at times as well. You never know though so keep the faith and have a great demo session on Saturday. You can see what is in the forecast at: http://fksa.org/showthread.php?t=5277 Dave showing a new board at the last Surf Expo

Hey Dave,
As Rick said wind can happen at anytime this time of year. Todays forecast was weak but actually rideable all day for the most part depending on your location. It is hit or miss this time of year as most of the wind is driven by cold fronts. You may keep an eye on things Friday with the forecast and then post a location for the demo based on the wind direction. I am sure with your light wind board you don't need much. East beach is good for NE, E, SE, S, and SSW. However if the wind is North you might go somewhere else. If the wind is NW, W, or SW you might yet go to a different location. Would be happy to offer advice on Friday regarding a location that would work best in the event there is a little rideable wind. There a still alot of people that read the forum, but most do not write or respond on here as there has been a fair share of bullying in the past. Give me a call on my cell when you get to town and we can discuss a battle plan. Steve-O 727-542-8022 |
