Visiting Miami From Europe To Kite
A repost from Facebook:
February is one of the better wind months so hopefully you will get some good sessions in. I would rent a car in advance. There are some excellent rental rates currently at: http://tinyurl.com/k3ofr7c Cars operation in Miami leaves something to be desired, a lot of careless drivers, so be on your guard. Also, I wouldn't leave any gear visible in your car over night as it might get stolen. For spots in Miami there are: Adventure Sports Miami Matheson Concession Miami, Florida 33156 Phone (305) 733-1519 Website http://www.adventuresportsmiami.com Status Today 9:00 am - 6:00 pm Hours Mon - Sun: 9:00 am - 6:00 pm Email info@adventuresportsmiami.com Crandon Park http://www.miamikiteboarding.com Both of the above concessions have fees and restrictions related to kiting. There is an area on the open ocean around 29th Street, Miami Beach where kiting is also performed. You should take a trip to the Florida Keys and stop at Islamorada, Whale Harbor and/or Annes Beach on the way south to Key West. There is kiting at Smathers Beach in Key West in E to S to W wind with restrictions described at http://fksa.org/showthread.php?t=5813 For weather planning there is lots of information at: http://fksa.org/showthread.php?t=6734 Have a good trip! Hi, thanks for adding me. I'm writing from Gdansk in Poland. We're 2 med students and I'd like to come with my girlfriend to Miami in Feb. Probably Feb.04-Feb.19. (something between Feb.01 and 23.), so 2 weeks. I'll bring my 12sqm kite. Could anyone recommend me a spot in the area of Miami? Or shall we choose a different area? What we're looking for is a beginner-friendly spot and also some kind of vacation flat rental. We choosed Miami, because the flight was quite cheap and we'll also like to visit the everglades. Do you think we should book a car via the internet or could you also recomment me some guys? Thanks!
