Default I am in Africa!!

Hey Guys
I am in Africa!! I landed in Luderitiz this last morning and the wind was blowing 40 to 50. The landscape is all desert with small little bushes that scatter the surroundings. On arrival after going through customs I found that my board bag is not on the plane and no where to be found. I talk to every one in the one room airport and after an hour of calling several different airports they assured me that they would have it the next couple of days. After that the customs agent told me that he would take me into town and show me around. That night I slept like a rock!
Today i met the 1st guy to break the record and who is running the event and he told me I could stay at his house. After moving into the house I find that I am rooming next to the fastest girl in the world, shes from south africa and real cool. Right after that we went out to lunch and she told me how she has been traveling around the world training and doing clinics for Nash. Pretty damn cool!!
Right now I am in a room full of the fastest people in the world and they all have there laptops out blogging and checking the weather over and over again. Its pretty cool hearing what people are trying to break the record and how they are preparing for this event. Some people are partying and some people are in meditation. Besides the Douglas guys I am the only one that can only speak english as there only language.
The weather is looking like its going to pick up in a week to around 40 and that is the kinda of breeze that is going to allow me to take a crack at the record. I have sized my self up with the guys that are #1 and #2 and they are not as big as i thought and the biggest guy here is Rob Douglas (US Black Dog) and I have been riding with him all summer. Which makes me feel allot more confident in what I need to do. All in all this is going to be allot of fun and I am going to kick ass no matter what. I hear that the guy that is running the event, Seb went 61.8 knts the other day but could not hold it for the entire run and had a huge wipeout. Who knows what is going to happen.
Mike
