Default Achilles tendon area issues and kiteboarding?

I came across a posting that intrigued me a bit for personal reasons. Does the Forum have an impressions on this and perhaps a tie in to kiteboarding? It could be a totally unrelated injury of course.

I am sorry to hear about your injury. I strained the gastroc just above that area in a whopping 4 to 5 mph wipeout skiing last December. Another freak accident. The area is starting almost feel normal after 7 months of healing. Anyone else have problems in this area?
