Default valve issues

I've been hanging with the developers of "Kitefix" in the OBX this week. They did a miraculous repair on a 9m Hypertype that blew out on me earlier this year. I was hesitant about sending the kite out for repair - not sure if the kite was still worth the expense (maybe $150 to $180 for the sailmaker plus shipping?) The kite looks great, flies like new.

They also have a valve repair kit that utilizes your OEM valve with a special double-sided adhesive tape.

I will write a more detailed report on the kite repair system soon. Until I saw how well it worked I had my doubts. Now I think this product should be in everyones "kite first-aid kit" especially if you travel to remote places...or simply if you do not want to miss a day (or weeks) without your kite. The repair can be done in about 1 hr.

I believe Extreme Kites carries the product.
