If you are on top of water starting with straps, going strapless should add interest and challenge to your riding. The dynamics and footwork are different as you can imagine. If you are still working on waterstarting going strapless may slow down your progress. Then again if you are used to surfing and better still using a board for towing, perhaps not that much. The biggest problem, even with a surfboard and your larger kite will be adequate wind this time of year to dial in your skills. Many might agree the largest hurdle to learning to kiteboard is having the right amount of wind for the gear they are trying to learn with.

Hurricanes bring wind, often too much so I wouldn't get too excited about riding prospects during Chris. We may luck out in terms of no damage and useable wind, fingers crossed, bigtime.
