La Ventana Kite Race and KiteXpo Demo Event, Jan 25 -28: A great event just got even better! For the past two years, Red Bull, Palapas Ventana and Baja Joe’s have sponsored the La Ventana Classic in Baja, Mexico, a 10.5 mile race whose proceeds benefit the local schools. For 2008, the La Ventana Classic has partnered with The Kiteboarder Magazine to also include a KiteXpo demo event, similar to the highly successful KiteXpo in Pismo Beach, CA (Pismo’s event will take place April 12-13, 2008). UPDATED PARTICIPANTS INCLUDE: Slingshot, Cabrinha, Best, Fone, Ocean Rodeo, Liquid Force, Carafino Foilboards and twintips, Freak Dog Kites, Airush, Nobile, Flysurfer, and Caution. Pending participants include Royal, Wainman Hawaii and possibly a few more. Intermediate or higher level kiteboarders will have the opportunity to kick the tires and test all the new gear from the top manufacturers in our sport. Raffle prizes will be donated by the manufacturers which will also benefit the local community. Combined with a freestyle expression session, short buoy racing and other festivities over the course of four days, The La Ventana Classic and KiteXpo promises lots of fun and camaraderie, all for a great cause.
