You might want to take a look at the LF Union binding.

but the difference is you can let go when wakeboarding....
try being stuck in binding when your kite goes into a death spiral....
im sure tom wouldnt have walked away from his EB accident if he had his feet stuck in binding, more then likely would have dislocated something.....
but everything has its risks.....
