This is your 24 hour and FINAL NOTICE. Tomorrow we will be racing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The forecast hasn' t changed much since last night. We are expecting 15-25 knots from the WNW with early morning showers.
All riders need to be at Honeymoon Island State Park at 8 AM. The park doesn't open until 8.
WHEN YOU ARRIVE AT THE STARTING LINE PLEASE GO DIRECTLY TO THE REGISTRATION DESK TO SIGN IN.
We may have a small window of opportunity to get the race completed so it is VERY important that everyone is ON TIME to the start.
The Skippers meeting will be at 8:30 AM and ALL riders must attend. Start and finish line procedures will be covered.
RACE START will be at 9 AM (weather permitting).
THE RACE WILL NOT BE DELAYED DUE TO LATE RIDERS OR GEAR FAILURE. Check your gear today to make sure it is in top condition.
The wind is going to be 20-25 SW tonight so the Gulf will be rough tomorrow. Expect 5-9 foot swell with chop on top. Currents will be strong and winds may or may not be favorable. It will be cold. HAVE A SAFETY PLAN IN CASE SOMETHING GOES WRONG.
I am taking my cell phone in a plastic bag in case I need to call for help. Extra floatation never hurts, ie.. wetsuit, impact vest, lifevest, etc..
