AND ...

The KB Mag. team has been bolstered big time with the strong,
diverse talents of TWO NEW KEY MEMBERS including:

Marina Chang - Publisher
Hometown: San Luis Obispo, CA
marina@kbmag.com

Marina shreds off the DR

Marina Chang is the new publisher of The Kiteboarder and is in charge of managing operations, distribution,
finance, sales, marketing, promotions, and strategic relationships. She will also play a key role in shaping
editorial content and the overall vision of The Kiteboarder. A Journalism graduate from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo,
CA, Marina worked extensively in advertising, public relations and event marketing for over 12 years specializing
in retail, hospitality and tourism. Before joining The Kiteboarder, Marina traveled to the Dominican Republic to
paraglide and learn kiteboarding. She was immediately hooked on the sport, moved to Cabarete and was a
partner at Kitexcite for three years. Through her marketing efforts, the school is now one of the best known
Kite Centers in the world, and the most recommended resource for people wanting information about kiteboarding
in Cabarete and the Dominican Republic.

She feels that her cumulative professional and life experience has been preparing her for the “dream job” she
has today as Publisher of The Kiteboarder. Her passion for the sport, industry knowledge, business experience
and educational background are ideally matched to her new position.

“Our goal is to put out the highest quality publication on the market today, in terms of feel, editorial content and
photos. We are taking a harder journalistic yet entertaining approach to providing up-to-date information on
news, equipment, instruction, travel, safety, and in-depth profiles on the personalities of our sport . The
Kiteboarder Magazine is 100% made in the US by kiteboarders. Our biggest point of differentiation and
strength over our competitors is our staff and marketing expertise – key personnel is comprised of experienced
riders on snow and water that are in tune with what everyday kiters kiters want to know about.

Marina sends it off the Dominican Republic

We are all passionate about kiting, have strong business backgrounds in complementing areas, and are fully
focused on one magazine versus several in a publishing group. Editorial content is focusing on US issues, trends,
travel and happenings but will also cover noteworthy international news, riders and competitions, as well as
interesting destinations. By the end of our first year, our aspiration is to establish The Kiteboarder Magazine as
the leading hub of the sport in print with a strong presence on the web."
