If you don't like an easily moved stopper ball, the upgrade is a waste of time for sure. Ever since I saw the first TD bar, I modified it and have been making "homemade" versions of this dynamic active stopper ball idea for about a year now on all my bars and love it.

To each his own on the idea. I think it's the best idea in kiting I have seen in awhile. SS came up with it on the TD bar and now Best has a kit available.
It is actually cheaper for me to buy the kit than the component parts (pull/pull strap, swivel, stopper ball, c loop, line, pig tails... etc) so I know Danny and myself are pumped about it

In terms of winds, I find a dynamic stopper highly valuable in high winds, especially when gusty. I don't see the need to move it around much at all in light wind (except maybe at self landing time).
