Default Cumbuco BRAZIL yesterday

Hi Rick
The hordes of flat water kite freaks are to arrive soon for the next two months, add to it the pros training their moves in search for... what else?...flat water.
Here some pics of how our kite spot looked yesterday, plenty space and almost empty.
Considering the never ending windy conditions and the warm water looks inviting isn't it?
Here a few lines about a regular Cumbuco day.
Wednesday at 11h, ESE, 18-20 kts, at 13h, up to 23-28 kts, choppy and gusty, it didn't lasted too long, at 15h, down to 16-22 kts, the eneded the chop and become much flatter, and after 16h just 13-16 kts until dark.
Today Thursday at 11h, 14-18 kts, flat and inviting, after a while up to 22-26 kts with gust almost to 30 kts, again terribly gusty and choppy, all people on their 9 mts had to come back to shore, it didn't lasted long again, after 14h, slowly down to 16-22 kts, water getting smoother and at 15h, I hardly could keep planning on my 12,8,
I guess again it was time for 16 plus mts kites, Felipe from Washintong (who uses to kite on the Gorge) was delighting us with his non board (funny) jumps though he performed some beautiful ones too, he's a great guy, in his way to Jeri tomorrow.
Good luck mate! Hope you'll enjoy there too and get the kite job with your friend.
The british couple Anna and Nick meet with this other british couple Claire and Kevin (who are heading East until Natal on a private 4WD tour) and also with Denis, the russian photographer and Katja, his girlfriend, and though no much else was going on in the hotel today, we had a good atmosphere, exchanging stories and making plans for the next kiting days.
Here a couple of pics of the day.
Golfinho kite scene at 13h

Felipe saying hello! from the sky

Anna and Nick (she performed her first half gotten front loops today)

Felipe again on one of his "no board" jumps

Sunset at Golfinho, two pupils on their last training moments before dark

Cheers. CRIS
