Kudos to The Crew

Folks I just wanted to say that you all deserve a high five for the wonderful vibe on this forum. As a visitor from the great white north, what you've got going is pretty special. Folks helping each other, stimulating discussion, having fun, not afraid to say I made a mistake - I could go on.

Pat yourself on the back!

Thanks! It's the guys that make the site as you say. Keep bringing it on and best wishes for a good season in Ontario.

Yes I am.... I've done a bit of blogging there on my experiences starting kiting May 2006.

I was out Jan 1st on the water! Very unusual for us up here in Southern Ontario to be kiting on the water in January. Was wearing a 5/3 wetsuit, booties and gloves, helmet - no neoprene beanie or hood. Water temperature was about 42 deg F. My head was only thing that was cold. Kited in shallow water to be safer.
More experienced guys with drysuits have kited on the water up to last Thursday. Winter has arrived today with snow and freezing rain and is going get real cold tonight. All the guys are chomping at the bit to get out on the ice and snow on the lakes.

Thats good. 42 degrees is like suicide in Miami, since it rarely goes down to the 40's.
