I appreciate the feedback. Just so I am clear. If I am facing the water (shore and parking lot to my back), where are the oyster beds? To the left and directly in front of me, etc? How far away? How is the right side? Any more advice is appreciated (want to keep my skin).

I plan on going around 4:30pm today if conditions hold. As for the oyster beds, as long as you don't go too far into the south pool or the north point you should be OK. It does get very shallow though at low tide. As for the gusts, this place always seems gusty, imo, regardless of the direction.

RM3001 -

I may try as well. I only packed a 12M and it looks like it may die down by then but I will probably drive by.......

NW one of the better directions??? I have to debate that, please see the picture. The buidlings at Post Rocky Point create a wind shadow, I have experience that a bunch of times, mainly in strong winds like today.
In my expierience at Cypress, N is way gustier Than NW, NW may still be gusty
but not as much as N. Certainly not the Best place around to ride but alot closer for me Cuz I don't have to cross the Bridge,

There are some rocks or oysters near shore they got me yesterday, Small area but none the less.

I agree, between N and NW most definetely NW is less gustier. Among all directions i think is SW with more S than W is the best.

Went to Cypress after work and and it was gusting to mid 20s. Rigged the 9m and it sucked. It went from blasting around to sitting in the water wating for a gust - it was off and on like a light switch. There were some periods when it stayed on which made for a bit of fun. Oh well, hadn't been out in a month so at least I got something. I'm so glad the days are getting longer!
