GUSTY Wind Tonight

What a run of late season wind! Gotten some great sessions in the last two nights. Initially tonight, say from around 6 to 6:30 it was about as gusty as I can remember it being for winds under 35 mph. Unfortunately windomatic is down in Delray so it is hard to estimate what the wind was at. Still, I was thinking boy this is a lot of work switching from being overpowered and near risk of inversion to slightly underpowered on an 11 m flat kite. Flat kites usually handle gusts fairly easily but not these. I would not want to be out with an old C kite in such conditions. It cycled like that a couple of times per minute for about 30 to 45 minutes. Add in some head high and better really steep waves frequently breaking and it gets you thinking about calling it a day sooner than later. Fortunately the gust range eased slightly, got into a rhythm and had a blast boosting big for a few hours. Any other interesting experiences tonight?
