good news boys!

So i just picked up May's issue of Women's Health magazine and your dreams have come true. There is a 3 page article on kiting called "lift off". Apparently an editor from the magazine came down for a weekend and took lessons. The first instructor was a "blonde burley guy named shawn" and the other one was "steve". Didn't realize shawn was burley, but either way its pretty cool. They mention Three Rooker as a great place to learn, tell women not to show up on a beach with gear and this article because they have to take lessons in order to avoid a "kitemare"

The information was a lot more accurate than i anticipated when i started reading, so that's definitely a good thing. A couple props to Real in the article (possibly via shawn?) Anyway...the second page of the article says in huge letters "YOU CAN DO THIS!". So... maybe your wishes for more kite chicks will come true. Can't hurt, that's for sure.

Where can I find one...or two?

My new issue of Oxygen magazine also had an article about kitesurfing. It's a Canadian fitness and body building publication directed towards women. It's great to see more of us kitechicks out there, but it's even better for all you guys to have us out there!!! LOL

Do I not have a kitechick becasue i'm a "Junior Member" and don't have a cool avatar?

If we're going to get more women into kiting, we've got to address a few things. Harnesses: I've found that most women are turned off by the harness sizing. Dakine needs to just eliminate Large and XL from their sizing chart. Maybe call XL, "Venti", like Starbucks does with their cup sizes. Or, how about a Victoria's Secret harness influenced line. I'd stock those in the shop for sure. Imagine, the Angel harness .... ooooo.

Kite names and marketing: How any women could be excited about buying a Best kite after seeing their ads is beyond me. How about a Marlboro-type guy with a kiteboard on the back of his horse or something. And names like Fuel, Crossbow ... not really geared toward the female species. Ozone is close with the Instinct, but how about the "Intuition". Now there's a name that'll get the ladies lined up. Oh yeah, and put some butterflies and flowers on the thing.

Yup just keep posting until you get that Senior Member status, and I can hook you up with a cool Avatar to upload!! After that you have to fight the KiteChicks off with a STICK!!! LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK that sounds good. Here is post #19! I'm on my way to being a senior member! by default though when I reach 65 I would get that status right?

As far as kite harness sizing, i'm either in good shape or those things run big. I have a dakine storm seat harness size M. and i'm 190#s, but I guess being 6'3" helps.

I think that if a woman has a "lovely lady hump" that she could probably weigh 60 pounds less and fit in mine! So to any kitechicks out there, I'll be nice and let you borrow my harness!
