The LOOOOVE boat.... soon will be making another run....

http://tampa.craigslist.org/mis/155743638.html

who's that hot guy!???

:P

toby wilson 04-30-2006 08:46 PM

No, I haven't been at Siesta Key lately...she must have seen me somewhere else!!!

bryanleighty 05-01-2006 07:19 AM

WTF??? the poster deleted her post.

oh well...

it was an "i saw you" post from a girl trying to get more info on the cute older gentleman she sees kiteboarding out on Siesta Key all the time.

Skyway Scott 05-01-2006 07:31 AM

What exactly is older?

There is only one Sarasota guy older than around 35.
She must be around 18 or so, is my guess. Be careful, Matt O!!!

E-Bone 05-01-2006 07:34 AM

I don't know--I think most of the Sarasota crew is older than 35. A 35 year old kiter on our beach is part of the kiting youth movement, by our standards.

bryanleighty 05-01-2006 07:35 AM

i think the post said something about late forties +...

i think the poster was 49.. not 100% sure on that.

Skyway Scott 05-01-2006 09:11 AM

Really? When I think Sorrysota, I think of both Matts, Drew, Rob and Rob, Barb, Philthy, you and a ton of other 33 to 35 year olds. Who is older than 40 down there? (Allan and Laurel)
I agree though, you guys don't have nearly as many youngins as the St. Pete side. We got about 1/3 of our guys under 30
(I wish kiting was around when I was 20)

E-Bone 05-01-2006 11:31 AM

I detect anger at Sarasota in your last post. Is that because Sarasota is a wealth center?

Skyway Scott 05-01-2006 11:51 AM

No anger. Sorrysota is Phil's nickname. I love the Sarasota crew.
Just being silly.

My Vote on the Mystery O.G. is ?? Without permission [won`t say his name]
He rides Siesta Key 3-4 times a week .
There are atleast 3 O.ld G.uys that ride there regularly.
Hey Scott why not start a pool and see who wins!
Winds are getting light, this could be a good past time to fill in the hours!

Skyway Scott 05-01-2006 07:21 PM

How much per bet? Odds placements? LMAO......

I wish I rode down there more so I could WIN this one. Curiosity is getting to me. (Who are 5 choices?)

sputnik 05-02-2006 12:24 PM

senior citizen kiter

didn't see the post on craigs list, however i suspect they were refering to joe. the guy from WI, Trent's & Gene's buddy. He's 50, and possibly one of the older kiters I know, lives in sarasota and hits siesta key more regularly than anyone. THe same thing happened in milwaukee where we used to ride. Young chick seeks older kiter dude.....
so i say either joe is a mo-effffing pimp or gets bored and posts stuff seeking himself.
either way that's way funny
ps joe you a ruthless pimp wit da ladies, make sur MJ don't find that out

Skyway Scott 05-02-2006 12:30 PM

Sounds as if the mystery Sarasotan has been riddled out :P
Not betting against this one. You ladies' man!

venice 05-02-2006 08:17 PM

Hey Folks,
I checked with my 3 candidates. All asked not to be identified as they are not into having their lives hashed out on the internet. All are good looking guys and have significant others. When I talked to them they also had suggestions as to who they thought the "Hot Old Guy" is.
Hmmm, the plot thickens. The number of possibles has now at least doubled. These men also have families and stable lives and kiteboarding is their past time and passion. As one "old guy" said: "If I wanted another relationship I would be out picking up women not Kiteboarding, there is only so much time in a day!"
As we talked and laughed, I would agree with what Toby posted. "Yah! that was me only at a different place". Lets face it, a kiter, young or old. male or female, when you are on the beach with a hand full of kite, the wind in your face, the water dancing under your feet and a smile on your face-- WHO of us doesn`t looook goood! ! !
As the "mystery seeker" has opted out of this drama, I suggest that Siesta Key is just another Florida Kiteboarding wonder.
Tampa Bay Area is the home of great kiteboarding. The home of professionals like Billy Parker. Upcoming stars like Josh, home to E-Bone, SkyWay Scott a great group of instructors, sunshine, warm waters and a host of colorful people! !
Well it appears that Siesta Key and Sarasota is now the home of the "H.O.G.s " HOT OLD GUYS" . The Sun Coast is a destination for everyone!
ISN`T KITEBOARDING GRRRREAT ! ! !
Let the mystery ride!!

STAT 05-03-2006 07:15 AM

bryanleighty 05-03-2006 07:28 AM

I guess it was only time until we started playing the "Who's the hottest kiter around?" game.

:D

I'll nominate myself as I am one sexy bitch. (my mom told me so.)

inferno 05-03-2006 07:46 AM

hey, she told me the same thing.......

J/K

bryanleighty 05-03-2006 08:10 AM

I left myself open on that one didnt I?

Flame on!

C. Moore 05-03-2006 10:03 AM

LOL.. Good one Danny.

It might hit cypress today. The toe is feeling like it needs some water to feel better.

inferno 05-03-2006 10:06 AM

im contemplating.... if it picks up ill be there around 4:15

Skyway Scott 05-03-2006 10:10 AM

Have a good time guys! I have to teach each night (except monday)
Someone RIP it up today!! NOTHING is worse than wind with no one taking advantage of it. Its sacrilegious.

Hottest kiter in town has got to be someone doing a 2 mile walk of shame in this heat (horribly dry, bad joke)

inferno 05-03-2006 02:54 PM

hey chris, the sensor just hit 14, i hope it keeps going up :D

inferno 05-03-2006 03:22 PM

its up to 16 im going to give it a try

Skyway Scott 05-03-2006 04:05 PM

It's up to 21 now! Nail it, Danny. Let us know how it was.

inferno 05-03-2006 08:07 PM

wish i had more time, got to ride from 5-5:45, but had enough power on the 21m to throw some pretty good airs, trying to work on the style points so i can be as as scottie :D
i plan on hitting NB tomorrow around 4:30, hope it blows again

toby wilson 05-03-2006 10:22 PM

Danny, did you guys meet/launch a new kiter named Eric today who took lessons from Randy? He is a real cool guy are and seems like he is in the same funk I was, stuck where I was (only it took me like 5 months to figure it out). If anyone sees him on the beach (he flies a 16M SS Octane), please give him a pointer or two. I just remember how tough it was for me to grasp the whole concept of putting everything together and would be stoked to see him get up and riding real soon...thanks!!!

inferno 05-04-2006 05:22 AM

yeah there was someone on a 16m octane, i didnt know who it was and i had to rush on out, he seemed to be doing pretty well, couldve used more wind though

bryanleighty 05-04-2006 05:30 AM

I hit PAG yesterday afternoon.. allen was there too.. we were both flying 12 waroo's but just didnt have enough. He was doing quite a bit better on his UG board.. I was on the aged 160 rrd (not the upwind monster)..

oh well.

E-Bone 05-04-2006 07:54 AM

What are you talking about? I was riding my 9m at Backside. Plenty of wind. Just enough to go upwind one foot each tack.

bryanleighty 05-04-2006 08:14 AM

the 2rd (turd) board is great in the waves.. but does not go upwind without a good amount of juice. seriously .. that board is GREAT in the swells. very little spray and rides super smooth.

i should have brought out one of my ply boards in the lighter wind.. probably would have had a better go at it.. though not as fun in the open water.

i need to get out to backside SW on the next seabreeze.

maybe tonight??

bryanleighty 05-04-2006 08:18 AM

and i'm serious man.. considering your unhuman like abilities to ride your 9 in just about any conditions, you'll probably be lit on your 15 ion in just 3 knots or less. you take that thing out in 15 to 18 and you are going to be jumping from frontside to backside skyway, tail slappin' the light poles on the way.

E-Bone 05-04-2006 08:56 AM

If I ever pull that trick, I'll head to the PKRA slider competition myself.

bryanleighty 05-04-2006 09:03 AM

i have this thing about kiting full speed at wood/metal objects protruding out of the water with the intent to make contact with it.

i call this thing "my rational train of thought" and i have usually been good at abiding by it.

i have this other thing, its in my wallet, called my "drivers license" which shows my birthdate that is quickly moving further and further away which means that my bones are more brittle and require more healing time than they did about 20 years ago when i might be excited about taking on said water lodged man-made structure(monster).

i am truly too old for that shit.
:)

Skyway Scott 05-04-2006 11:06 AM

Bryan,

Curious, how old are you? Unfortunately, I am confident I got you beat
Wish I was 23 again.

bryanleighty 05-04-2006 11:18 AM

35 in August.

I still get carded for lotto tix.

I guess when I'm 80 I'll look 65 or so..

Skyway Scott 05-04-2006 12:55 PM

39+ :?

BigR 05-04-2006 01:04 PM

Raul is SO old (how old IS he?)
He is SO old, that his first kite had a key attached to it.....

Oh my gosh.. worst joke of all time. Don't strangle me.
Seriously tho, he was one of the first riders in ALL of Florida, and he was old back then!!

JoshTaylor 05-04-2006 02:43 PM

to me, all of you guys are old
