So, nobody bit on the other thread . I'll make it blunt:

Can we or can we not kite at Crandon this weekend?

I know that Monday and onwards we cannot until Labor day. But is Sat or Sun
still permissible to ride................

In years past it started as of Memorial Day, this Monday as a rule. One year it shut down the immediately prior weekend as things were jammed up. I will call the Park Manager and ask for confirmation this year if you like.

I'm trying to figure out whether togoto Miami or ft Pierce this weekend,

makes the decision alot easier if I knew

hey BigR,
I always remembered that it was after memorial day until Labor day that we couldn't kite at the weekends I believe. www.miamikiteboarding.com has a link that shows the rules of crandon and it states after a certain day in june that we couldn't kite during weekends due to the summer crowd.
Im going this weekend. I dont see why not.

Sorry guys, I just spoke with the Park Managers office and Crandon is closed to kiting COMPLETELY until perhaps after Labor Day starting Friday, May 25, 2007. In the past they enforced this firmly. From what I have heard you can't even kite there weekdays during this period. The new manager wasn't available but I will speak to him about this and see if we can gain access on weekdays as in the past.

Crap. The new manager must be grumpy. Last year, during this period, we were able to kitesurf during the weekdays!!
Anyways, where can I go kitesurfing tomorrow?
Miami Beach?

Miami Beach, Matheson ( yuck! ), or dift launch in Biscayne bay.

There may also be a secret spot or two that nobody is prying from my fingers till I'm dead!

I was there yesterday and when the park attendant left they posted a sign stating that it was closed 25th on.

ahh that sucks,
I saw a couple of them riding at Bill Baggs on their way to stiltsville.
That sucks man.
