Xmas DP at EB

All of my kids have reached the age where they would rather sleep in than get up at the crack of dawn xmas morn to rip open their gifts. I was planning to hit EB at O:dark thirty tomorrow. I've got to head back to the house by 10:00 or so. Who is in?

I may have a reasonable shot at it until about 10 or so, as well.

Eb ?

that would be Desoto on the eastern faceing shore?

Unimog Bob 12-24-2006 04:36 PM

Thats right, its not that we're trying to talk in code just lazy I guess. If the forecast holds it should be good from predawn till around 10:00 AM once it starts going west it gets iffy. You could always move to Big beach or North beach later in the day.

Shocked

So the wife and I were having dinner tonight and she suggested to me that I get out there and kite for a few hours before our daughter gets up.

Funny thing was, I wasn't even going to ask.

So yeah, Merry Christmas....I'll see you guys there.

I'm heading out. Doppler looks kinda freaky though

VERY freaky, unfortunately. I got up to go, but am going to sit here for awhile.

There is most likely going to be an outflow boundary (heavy wind spike) very soon on the leading edge of that storm followed by a serious squall.
I wouldn't recommend going out til that crap passes.
Please be careful and wait for that squall to go through.

Merry Xmas and play it safe. We have wind forecast for tomorrow as well.

Josh launched his 7m and came back in and put it down.
Bob isn't going to launch. Good news.

Oh, they said it was solid 30 on the ground with higher gusts (before the storm got there) :D

Yeah, I woke up at 6:30 a.m. or so, looked at the radar, and went right back to bed. I hope that no newbies try to charge this.

As you said, Scott, no one should be riding this until the heavy stuff passes. That is going to be nasty as hell and I can't imagine being tethered to a kite when it rolls in.
