Replacing Pigtails

There has been some great advice on this forum about periodically checking and replacing worn kite bridles. But pigtails seem to wear out a lot faster than bridles and, presumably, can trigger similar kitemares if left unchecked.

Questions: How often do you replace your kite's pigtails (let's assume the kite is ridden a couple of times per week)? And has any one found one pigtail brand that holds up better than others (if so, where do you get them)?

I replace them every year. I make them with 3 or 4 mm amsteele that I buy online. Just measure out the length you need, tie a simple knot and use it as a pig tail. The replacement ones are hard to find and too expensive for what they are.

I replace mine twice a year. The cost of replacing them is nothing compare to a bad day at the beach or even worst a kitemare.

Right on, stay on it. Peace Out
