The wind should be good but it does go down at times. Depending on how long you are heading up for should play a part in how many good days you see. I seem to recall the best time to go is in May and June however July historically is good as well.

This is also a traditional good time of year for Cabarete. Still there are exceptions. Five years ago I went in July and it went off consistently everyday for the entire time I was there. Two years ago, we had two tropical depressions in only five days and we were largely skunked for rideable wind.

I would look at the forecasts for OBX when you are planning to head up and see how things look.

Thanks for the reply Rick.

What is OBX? Can you send me the link?

Thanks,

Sorry, OBX is short for the "Outer Banks" of North Carolina or Cape Hatteras. I would checkout the wind archives at http://www.ikitesurf.com/ for more info. I went up there twice and was also largely skunked for wind. Going to many places for five days you risk missing the wind at times.

Hey AJ,

Do you have the links to any representative wind meters down that way? The images of the Exumas sure do look great.
