Saturday

Where is everyone planing to be on Saturday? Its looking pretty hard N for most of the day.

invisible 04-06-2007 01:35 PM

hoping for a down winder from IRB to ?, or from JP to PAG.

bringing a screwdriver this time so i dont have to do that last half with no foot straps! lol.

inferno 04-06-2007 02:12 PM

Tom, when you plan on heading out, id like to do a down winder on my surf board, maybe we can do one farther north depending on the wind direction, (clearwater to irb, or something like that)
let me know

Skyway Scott 04-06-2007 05:07 PM

That sounds like the ticket. I would be interested maybe too.
How early?

Wolfie 04-06-2007 07:29 PM

I would also love to know where you are meeting up and when. I'm not sure I can make it, but I will try!

Unimog Bob 04-06-2007 10:11 PM

If you go early count me in! I rode bradenton beach by the beach house today. Never did see Toby Amber or Roy. Happy B-day Amber. Gusty and full of holes there too. JP to PG sounds like the ticket to me!

Bob

Skyway Scott 04-07-2007 05:30 AM

Someone post and let's get the show on the road! ;)

Looks more NW than expected!! YIPPEEEEE Downwinder paradise.

I will be playing poker until the Donster awakes. Don't call the phone... but post.

BigR 04-07-2007 05:45 AM

Honeymoon?

Skyway Scott 04-07-2007 05:49 AM

Is Lori going? That will affect Donna's decision.

BigR 04-07-2007 05:52 AM

yes, Lori is icthing to go

Skyway Scott 04-07-2007 05:53 AM

I can't wake Donna. Is 8 o'clock early enough to get a decision?

BigR 04-07-2007 05:56 AM

8 it is then

Wind has turned hard North now, prolly be that way the rest of the day

Skyway Scott 04-07-2007 06:03 AM

Hopefully Donna will be into it. If not... crap poker..okay... if not a couple guys were at NB yesterday. So, I guess we can still ride there. I like the HM idea.

We are picking up the dog at 4 or 5, so we have some time today... yippeee, about the dog and riding. Wait til you meet "Major". He is the shnizzit.

Skyway Scott 04-07-2007 06:09 AM

4 for 4, heads up. 2 more.... then I wake the Donster.

inferno 04-07-2007 06:10 AM

FH reads 22-25knots, and its a pretty accurate sensor

Skyway Scott 04-07-2007 06:13 AM

YEP :p

inferno 04-07-2007 06:15 AM

funny, accordding to accuweather, its blowing 9 in SP and 18 in palm harbor ???

wish that happened more often, almost seems like a perfectly good day for sunset beach.....

Skyway Scott 04-07-2007 06:17 AM

http://www.baynews9.com/Sky9.html#

sensors are useless around here, unfortunately.
But, I think it always blows harder and more consistent up north, when from the north.

Skyway Scott 04-07-2007 06:21 AM

Where and when for you, Danny?

inferno 04-07-2007 06:22 AM

im thinking.. start out in the causway while its due north then when it shifts more NW go to the outside of honey moon and get some serious wave action....

nother idea, have someone drop us off at sunset and due a down winder through teh intercoastal.....that would be incredible on a north wind :) :)

inferno 04-07-2007 06:24 AM

my wife is meeting friends with jetskis at dunedin around 12, so im gonna see if i can get her to head out there around 11am

A-Bomb 04-07-2007 06:30 AM

I may just session IRB, or somewhere around there, if anyone is interested. I probably won't head out until late morning or close to noon.

It's interesting to hear that most of the gulf beaches were gusty yesterday too. I was wondering about that while riding at back side of the Skyway yesterday. It was blowing 10 then 25 back and forth most of the day. It did seem to get a little better late in the day though.

I'm looking for some cleaner wind today.

Skyway Scott 04-07-2007 06:45 AM

Well, no where is as gusty as BS on a north, imo. Especially if not out in the channel. When I think of the holes at the beach, I can't see wind "cleaning up" by going over land and trees.
I am pretty sure that the beach up around IRB and more north was probably pretty stable and Steve-O pretty much confirmed that.

The main problem we had at PaG was the holes in the wind, not so much true moment to moment gusts. It would blow good for 5 minutes, then..... wtf?
I rode the 15m without problems on top end, but in the lulls, I was actually underpowered.

Skyway Scott 04-07-2007 06:59 AM

Raul,

Donna just woke up. 5 for 6 (gas money) :p

BigR 04-07-2007 07:02 AM

That should be an easy one, Slam Dunk!

Whats the dealio? we're heading out now.

I'll give ya a call in 30"

shogun1204 04-07-2007 07:18 AM

N. Beach

Well a few of us are going to risk going to N. Beach. Try to talk to the Ranger before we setup to make sure its cool. If not, we are going to head to the Tow!

shogun1204 04-09-2007 12:18 PM

N. Beach

Toby talk to the Ranger and starting April 15th we are not allowed at N. Beach due to bird season. Just a FYI!

BigR 04-09-2007 01:10 PM

SH^T!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sunday the 15th forecast looks unreal outta da' NW!!!!!!!

Can't we get them to start BS ( bird season ) on the 16th instead?!??????

 :(

invisible 04-09-2007 01:19 PM

In china there are no birds. Everyone ate them.

BigR 04-09-2007 01:52 PM

If we start eating our birds as well may solve the problem , But that'll just get even more bird-lovers outta the closet to molest us!

Dang! Sunday windguru and ikantsurf both saying 25-30 NW , NB perfection!

Crappy day for bird watching

Skyway Scott 04-09-2007 01:59 PM

Downwinder time.:D SUNDAY should be the new Winds-day.

shogun1204 04-09-2007 03:03 PM

Downwinder

Well if I stay in town this weekend, and the forecast holds count me in on the Downwinder. Scott let me know, so I can tag a long.

toby wilson 04-09-2007 08:51 PM

So where is everyone gonna go then on Sunday? The Tow? TI? IRB?

bayflite 04-09-2007 08:56 PM

sand key to pass a grille

Skyway Scott 04-09-2007 08:56 PM

Whatever fits as the time nears. If NW, that run from IRB to the 'tow is pretty sweet. Or JP to NB. Lots of choices. Roy, I usually tag along. :p

toby wilson 04-09-2007 10:22 PM

Lets get a HUGE downwinder together...might be fun to have a bunch of riders all on one downwinder...it might be one of our last for this year!!!

Skyway Scott 04-10-2007 07:58 AM

Is everyone up for Sand Key to PaG? Bayflite posted when I did, I didn't see it until just now. Sounds good to me.

invisible 04-10-2007 08:02 AM

A huge down winder would rock. I always thought we should be doing these twice a year instead of the kite masters race... oh and of course it would be free ....

A jump filled down winder with a bunch of people is a lot more fun than a race anyway!

Skyway Scott 04-10-2007 08:10 AM

So, does that parking lot at Sand Key sound good?

toby wilson 04-10-2007 12:13 PM

I'm down, just have to get to a calmer launch either before or after to get Amber some water time but other than that I am game. Hopefully we could do it first thing or either late afternoon???
