do you think that the wind picks up with the tide?

I think that the wind picks up with the tide (coming from low to high tide).
and this last month it's been very strange that there will be 12-14kts SE in the morning ..the atlantis flag will be standing straight ..i'll drive all the way to blue hill and there will be 8kts.
what do you guys think?

I don't know if it's the tide. To me it can also be some sort of thermal. It's not the first time I hear that where the wind blows on-shore is weaker than on the other side of the island. I think it might have been Aruba...but not sure.

Anyway, I was shocked to hear that Friday was not even rideable, I swear from my office it did look windy.

I believe it...

Its not a case of "believing"- I've not witnessed it in a bunch of years sailing.

I've also seen the wind die (by coincidence) when the tide comes in as many times as it picked up.

2-3 feet difference in the atmosphere isn't going to make any real difference.
