traveling with kites

Im going to corpus this wednesday hopefully for a few days of wind. i have one of those NSI golf bags but my 19 doesnt fit . I want to check it in its bag as luggage. Anyone do this -do the kites get torn up or damaged? Would it be smarter to try to carry it on? Its pretty damn big even folded down tight.Thanks.

Have you considered vacuum bagging your kites?
This is just an example.

I haven't done it, but heard it works well.

Something to the effect of it can damage the bladders. I got the 19 in its bag and I guess i'll check it.
