Thanks everyone for the feedback on where you guys were riding today!

Since nobody posted anything here I am posting something to entertain myself. I finally got to meet Abomb and Inferno today up at Sunset Park.

Super nice guys, had a great session today and its fun riding!

Chad085 01-03-2008 07:29 PM

i guess since you don't ride best kites, no one wants to talk to you or ride with you. Sorry about your luck, bro but i've gotta run, i ride cab and slingshot, so i'd better get off here before they burn me;)

Danimal8199 01-03-2008 09:54 PM

You are right, I don't ride best, but I figured since I was a Senior Member and all I would get a little respect, that and the fact that I learned on a best...I thought that might give me some street cred!

I've tried some SS and Cabs, not bad, but I can do just about everything on my Monkey and Liquid Force kites that I can do on the best/cab/SS/Flexi/Eclpse(sorry toby! haha :)

The one thing I can do on my monkey that I can't do on a cab....put a big hole in it and not care too much!

You know me though, I like the bar preasure and the pulleys on the bar. I'd try a best if they ever had a 2:1 set up!

Whitey 01-04-2008 07:48 AM

Heineken , Carona, Coors Light, PBR. After a 12 pack of either one, your drunk. Some people can't tell the difference. Some people prefer PBR to Heinekin. Some people would rather go with out than drink the PBR. Just like kites.

Difference between the bar and this forum is that no one in the bar drinking PBR gives a rats ass if you are paying $1.50 more per beer and enjoying your Heinekin, much less jump up in your face call you names, write on the walls (in permanent marker) that they don't respect you, and pound their chest trying to get everyone that walks in the bar for their first beer to drink PBR.

Life is short, find the best in people, if you don't have something nice to say stay quiet, enjoy the power of the wind (with any kite), and a beer (any brand) with your fellow kiter!

Danimal8199 01-04-2008 01:20 PM

Ok Ok Ok, I get it, Your telling me that after I drink a 12 pack of PBR I would be willing to fly a cab instead of my LF???

Did you drink a 12 pack when you wrote this hahaha!

You are right though. I was acting sarcastic because I was just a little disapointed that nobody responded about where to ride on New Years.

Before I had my own quiver though, I would ride anything rather than not ride at all, because of course you know kiteboarding rocks! :D

Whitey 01-04-2008 03:10 PM

Yep.

Nope.

WWhile I would not advocate flying anything after a 12 pack of any brand you would have one thing going for you. You could put a hole in the cab and not care. ;)

My post was not directed you. I realized that you were kidding. It was something that I had typed up to post on another thread after a really nice guy, who is a friend of all of ours and would help anybody out, got ripped into by someone completley out of line, but they closed the thread as I tried to post it. Your joking comments opened the door for me to post it here.

Have a great day! Tight lines.

Chad085 01-04-2008 04:00 PM

I remember one day in particular that you almost put a hole in your head AND my cabrinha!!!!:p good times, i think you needed a 12 pack after that one. At least i know why you don't jump close to the beach or in shallow water anymore......LOL My personal opinion is that even a bad day kiting(is there such a thing??) FAR outweighs a fantastic day at work, and the type of kite you are riding is just about as important as the hateful, irrational and completely out of line comments that were recently made on this forum:mad: . I sure am glad i didn't have to subscribe to this forum and pay money, cuz i dont see a link for returns and refunds. I had flashbacks of high school..........

Tom Stock 01-04-2008 04:18 PM

Since none of those were decent beers, I can't take this thread seriously.

Whitey 01-04-2008 04:21 PM

How dare you spell out the entire name of that kite in this county ............ wait I think I was on one too, as I missed the underside of yours on the way up and looked down at the top of yours on the way down prior to the yard sale.

It's all good.

Danimal8199 01-04-2008 05:02 PM

Ok Tom, lets hear it, define a what a good beer is to you, I'd hate to leave you out because you don't like PBR! HAHA

I personally don't know how any beer company can stay in business with Land Shark around, have you had an ice cold one with a lime? Its not fair to the others!

BigR 01-04-2008 05:40 PM

Full Sail Ale , the I.P.A. is especially good for a semi microbrew

tire bite golden ale is nice even tho' its made by coors

Negra Modelo (not negra especial) is suprisingly awesome for a mexican beer

other notables are st pauli girl, newcastle and Beck's ( light or dark ) is way bettr than heineken (pos)

disclosure , I pay full pop in cash money for my beer and am not sponsored by any alcohol affilliated company

Steve-O 01-04-2008 06:45 PM

Danny,

Bottom line for me is you hit the jackpot riding at Sunset Park if it was flat water you were looking for....and a bonus....a cool bunch of guys to ride with as well. Adam, Danny, Doug, Derrick....the list goes on. It's not about the kite you ride or the beer you drink....it's how you treat your fellow man or woman that counts in my book.

Chad085 01-04-2008 07:50 PM

right on, steve-o, thats what its all about. Hey whitey, did we almost crash at some point? I was talking about Danny's wild ride at lassing park. If we did come close, sorry man, i must have been drooling over all those dollar $ign$ in the air above me and didn't $ee you

Tom Stock 01-04-2008 07:59 PM

This thread reminds me of a shirt I own.

Danimal8199 01-05-2008 01:14 PM

Steve-O it was great out there and lots of open, flat water for as far as the eye could see!

Big R,

I will substitute a landshark for a Modelo Especial (not a big fan of dark beers)from time to time.

The funny thing is that when you go to Mexico they say not to drink the water, but the beer is great???

You hit the mark. I'm a huge fan of Guinness. when I lived in Austin there was an ice cream place (Amy's) that had Ginness ice Cream. It was pretty awesome.

Danimal8199 01-06-2008 05:13 PM

Guinness tastes like something burnt...not abig fan.

However, I did have some ice cream made with 30% Jack Daniels, now we're talking!

Bells beer- recently available in Fl long time staple in michigan. if you like sierra nevada you will love bells. Available at publix. Oberon is a good one to start with. The stout is amazing.

Beer-Kites

There's alot of good beers and alot of good kites. I say, if your ENJOYING PBR and Monkey's that's the important thing. Don't be cheap or afraid to try new things, they may add to the enjoyment of your life. I'm almost 50 you young f**ks. My advice is to ENJOY.

Hienys aren't worth it, others are.

I've only flown SS and Best. SS bladders suck! They always leak. Let's tell the truth.

Beer-Kites

Hey Tom have you tried Lagunitas Brewery? The Imperial stout is good.

toby wilson 01-08-2008 08:37 PM

The problem with PBR is that it produces quite a pungent odor to accompany the next mornings booming loud beer farts.

It is widely known that drinking a more expensive beer ensures that the beer company has put plenty of time, effort and manpower into the R & D process, thus creating a much smoother and less pungent S.B.D. type beer fart. This is a very good quality to have in a beer because obviously at the very least, if detected by another's nostrils, can be blamed on the family pet due to the lack of noise source giving you away as the farting culprit...

Just a thought to keep in mind while at your local ABC store or beer aisle at the local supermarket...

Riding/Beer

I wish I would of got out New Years day. It looked like it did rock. But I drank too many fancy beers (Two Hearted Ale, Jameson whiskey). Allright, I'm a P*ssy, but remember I'm almost 50. If I had read this thread ahead of time Daminal, and you wanted to kite with an old f**k, I would have been there.

Danimal8199 01-09-2008 09:14 AM

Thanks Toby for the Public Service Announcement!

T_twotone, I was looking to ride with anyone, thats better than riding alone, safer too, plus thats how you meet new people.

For the record, not a big fan of PBR, my monkey kite has been fine, it served its purpose as a learning tool that I could trash.

Plus I adhere to my theory that if you are good you can rip on any kite.

although I had 2 of my most killer sessions on a ss and cab when it came to buying my next kite i bought LF. I like 2:1 bar set-ups so that limits my choices somewhat.

I also like 2:1 beer set ups, that means double fisting baby yeah!
