Just don't put a stake in the ground and attach yourself to it via a long "leash" and then try to land the kite.

Why is tethered manlifting so dangerous? "Lockout" is a big reason why.

Not sure why but this keeps coming up over the years. Guess that is why Natural Selection seems to be such a prevailing force in things. Anyway, here goes one more time.
