Thurs DP

might be a bit chilly.. but should be good times.

drysuit baby!

i'll be a Skyway by 645.. ready to rock n roll.

Airgasm 01-24-2007 10:55 AM

...might join you...

cheers,

Chris Bigger

Skyway Scott 01-24-2007 11:32 AM

Airgasm, good one!

Airgasm 01-24-2007 11:48 AM

now for an avatar....

...by the way Scott, took my 15 Hyper to North Sails and Stella redid a few of the leading edge seams in 20 minutes....good job for $30....now for some wind....

Airgasm 01-24-2007 11:49 AM

....think I might head out to Skyway this afternoon....skyway sensor is slowly coming up....besides, the dog need some exercise....

Chris

Skyway Scott 01-24-2007 11:54 AM

Okay,

I am wrapping up some stuff over here, but can bring Daisy and maybe Donna will come.
Should be able to be out there in about an hour.
Hey, we both have identical kites (actually Donna does too) and boards and weigh the about the same. Are you interested in a light wind race?

Airgasm 01-24-2007 12:03 PM

as long as you strap 15lbs to your ass....!!

...even still... I'm always up for a challenge!

Skyway Scott 01-24-2007 12:29 PM

Whatta you weigh? Believe it or not, I weigh almost 170 these days.
I weighed 145 when I first started kiting (kind of blows the idea of kiting keeping you fit out of the water). I'll tie a weight to myself though, especially if ten bucks is on the line :p

Airgasm 01-24-2007 12:41 PM

I'm about 175 with the lastest beer addition....so, OK, we should be about even.....but what's the wind gonna do? Don't really feel like standing around in the rain if there's no wind....

Airgasm 01-24-2007 12:46 PM

....more showers on the way....don't think enough wind to make the journey...

bryanleighty 01-24-2007 12:53 PM

skinny people.
blah.

i was at 175 2 years ago.. pushing 200 now.

damn beer.

damn delicious, soothing beer.

but i do have to say that my thighs are much larger than they ever were before I started kiting.. i blame that.

sorry beer. didnt mean to put you on the spot.

Skyway Scott 01-24-2007 01:27 PM

Chris,

It's raining and is horrible outside.
I think I am going to pass unless it clears up later and focus on other things.
Darn, I really wanted to race, but not in this dreadful stuff.

bryanleighty 01-24-2007 01:53 PM

looks like tomorrow am might be quite rainy as well..

drat.

we'll see..

260 these days...I don't want to hear ANY sob stories...sometimes I have farts that are heavier than you... LOL

Rodan'sWings 01-24-2007 04:49 PM

Drizzel, thats all it will do....hope to see you guys at South SW tomorrow you can fart in your wetsuit and drink beer at the same time whilst kiting.

Phil

I will be there!
Rain...schmain...I will be wet anyway!
And the forecast said the rain will stop around 9 or 10.
I hope for the best.

Peter

Rodan'sWings 01-24-2007 05:31 PM

EBone, I dont know why your fraternal ass spankers banned shakespear, becouse chicks dig it!. Be there or be square, dude

Skyway Scott 01-24-2007 05:32 PM

Philthy weighs less than 1/2 of what you weigh Toby. Wow!!
He can ride (powered) in 9 knots whilst you watch from the shore, all the while contemplating "To be(er) or not to be(er)".

I know.... bad....

BigR 01-24-2007 05:40 PM

Whilst you guys may be kiteboarding tomorrow morning, I may be laying another 300+ sq ft tile to my house.... if only I could direct the mexican tilers whilst kitesurfing.....

skempthepimp 01-24-2007 05:46 PM

Man this thread is making me thirsty for some wind and beer. We're gonna have to all chip in and get Toby a custom 28M kite and a sheet of plywood with fins if this keeps up. You know I thought i would get my abs back when i got into this sport, but then there was that 5 month rainy thunderstorm season... and beer...

You have no idea. When Philthy started jumping down in SRQ, we were all pissed. The guy had been jumping for like one week and he was just launching off of the face of the planet, huge air and huge hangtime. We were happy for him but pissed that our fat asses were chained to the water, relatively speaking.

Skyway Scott 01-24-2007 06:53 PM

Yeah, he's a great jumper...

"His kite flies up, whilst his form follows from below: Men without kites never to heaven go."
(Hamlet...sort of)

toby wilson 01-24-2007 07:01 PM

Alas, whilst you are all standing on the beach, I shall be holding down my 7 Fuel in the next hurricane while donning my royal helmet on the crown of my skull!!!

Then I'llst ride in as soon as the pungent aroma of the food emanates toward the open water and hear the hiss of the beer bottles opening in thoust hands!!!

Skyway Scott 01-24-2007 07:09 PM

Literally literacy. Nice, Toby.

Airgasm 01-24-2007 09:14 PM

good riding from 3 till dark at Skyway tonight.....for those who braved the rain.
I counted 8 riders battling the limited visibility.....reminded me of Wales!

Cheers,

Chris

Fuk dis. Instead of kiting, I'm going to the tanning booth today. Glancing out the window, the weather reminds me of a Discovery Channel show about Alaskan King Crab fishing.

I am telling you, it is cold. Check out the attached photo of the Skyway channel, taken this morning.

Kev 01-25-2007 06:37 AM

it's not that cold. Come on it's blowing. That's all that really matters right. If we had a real winter this would be warm still.

bryanleighty 01-25-2007 09:45 AM

def was not that cold.. wore drysuit but would have been fine in wetsuit..

thing was that there was no wind @ north skyway. it was gusty.. from nothing to decent and all things inbetween. def one of the worst early am sessions ever. barely able to stay with the wind.

It was def coming out of the NE.. just no strength to it at all. typical AM sessions have a good solid base of wind. Nothing like that today.

not worth waking up.

hoping those that went to South Skyway got some better conditions.

Paedda 01-25-2007 10:45 AM

Thanks Bryan!

I was almost out of the house and ready to go!
Do you think it will be like that in the afternoon?

Peter

bryanleighty 01-25-2007 11:41 AM

no idea man..

Paedda 01-25-2007 12:41 PM

Well, I give it a shoot and see how it is at Skyway!
I have nothing to do anyway!

Peter

Kev 01-25-2007 01:20 PM

Both N & S SW were not worth the trip this morning. Everyone who stayed home and stayed warm made a good decision.

inferno 01-25-2007 01:29 PM

its looking better now, can anyone confirm?

A-Bomb 01-25-2007 01:45 PM

That's weird, looking at the sensor on ikitesurf.com it looked like it was going off.

I was fully planning on going out before work, but I woke up, stretched my back, while still in bed, and pinched a damn nerve. ...could barely move, it's almost back to normal now though. I'll be back in action for tomorrow DP and/or this weekend.

toby wilson 01-25-2007 02:45 PM

Glad I stayed home and slept like the fat lazy bastad I was this AM!!! LOL

Skyway Scott 01-25-2007 04:13 PM

Just got back from North Beach. Rode for a couple hours.
It was solid 15, going to maybe 25.... who knows (hybrid kites!!).
Scott Wolfe and I both rigged big and held on. It was beautiful out there.

inferno 01-25-2007 07:00 PM

had a decent crowd at backside with litewavedave, the 17 sonic a nice kite, great hang and powerful yet smooth pull in kiteloops.... just ask little alex ;)
kinda fun fun watching him on the 17m in 13 gusting to 18 or so..

I made a call and asked for a post stating wind at NB, Danny... just so you know.

I think maybe this sensor is moderately accurate (in terms of what happens at NB), too bad it only updates once every two to three hours.

Raul, do you know where the real time information originates for this sensor (Anna Maria)?
