Costa Rica Kitesurf Pavones
 

Great spot from december to april, south Costa Rica, 10 mn from Pavones.
Surf in the morning, kitesurf in the afternoon.
One of the only wave riding spot in Costa Rica.
Unique set up because of the 90 ºangle of the coast, that creates a captive beach, no getting lost at sea, we are inside of the Golfo Dulce.

THE WINDS:
With winds from 12 to 25 miles an hour, the spot is very safe to learn versus the north of the country, that is more for advanced kiters.

The thermal wind starts to blow around 11am, quits around 4pm.
Side shore wind.
The best wind is from december to August.

We also have a wave riding spot for more experienced kiters.
If there is no wind, wax up your surf board, and catch the world class waves, various spots for beginners and experts.
Also there are great spot for stand up paddle surfing.
We opened a kitesurf school , and will offer kite surfing, surfing , stand up paddle , horse back riding vacations for the next season 09-10. With rentals, food, etc.

Looks sick. Always wanted to surf the southern coast and kitesurfing is a bonus. Definately will look you up. I know the wave season is summer. How is the wind during the summer months?

PAVONES KITESURF SCHOOL:

We offer:
a 3 days package for $275.

That include 8 hours of class, and equipment to learn.
a 6 days package for $500, with around 18 hours of class.
Individual lesson of 3 hours for $75.

Summer winds in Costa Rica
 

Speaking of our 4th year of experience here, never quite sure if it is going to blow in the afternoon or not in the summer. Like today, surfed 2 sessions this morning ,and then it turned on at around 2, slightly overcast but good lit on my 11. Averages 1 or 2 days a week with wind in the summer month, I can't complain. Check papaG surf for wave sizes.

Shaun, you got your new gear in yet? What do you guys have in the way of spare part, lines etc so I don't need to bring too much sh*t with me?

Hello rafalutionary,
I've got new sling shot gear, the REV kites, Diesels, and Misfit boards and heaps of back up.

Also have new SUP boards for rent from Starboard and Timpone.
From 9'8 to 12'.
Also new for this year, boat trips to Punta Burrica for some mental kite/waves sessions.

Shawn is ready to teach , got 2 students so far.
Now he is teaching me. Had problem with the valves of my kite. Got the glue Aquaseal today. All the valves are popping out. Aie aie aie!
