Picnic Island Flats?

Are the Flats at the southern tip of Picnic Island rideable in a straight South? The one time I rode there I think it was SouthWest. I will probably be there after work around 4pm if the wind holds.

Only time I rode the flats was on a Southwest. But they ARE sweet, huh? I hope to hit Picnic tomorrow (Wed) sometime around noon, wind and weather permitting.

Be sure to avoid the area around MaDills runway. They will stop you if ya get to close. Had the coast guard and sheriff warn me about 6 years ago.

On a straight south the launch is harder, and it is side off till you get around the tip, but it is doable. Still much safer with a bit of west in it. Those are the best flats around in my humble opinion! Mile long tacks with small clean kickers at one end.
