I'll either be hittin' up the Gulf with Bayflite for a Mako Sesh or will be at the BS SW around 1PM.

i live in north pinellas (palm harbor), was thinking about sunset beach, honeymoon, or clearwater. I like riding down at EB but I've never ridden SW and, to be honest, I'm kind of intimidated from all the stories I've heard. Then again....I'd much rather ride with a couple other kiters. sean

BS SW is not a place for new riders.. many-a-kites have been eaten by the trees (2 of mine btw).. its just a crappy launch area and tons of stuff in the muck below the waters surface to ruin a great day.

if you are riding upwind and looking to go out there.. just be very cautious and dont kite there alone until you are comfortable with the surrounding hazards..

Well it seems like most of you guys are indecisive at this point. I'm heading out to sunset beach now, give me a call when you guys figure out where you're gonna be heading so I can meet up with you.

edit
Yeah, bryan....that's why I'm looking for other spots. Just too many hazards there from what I hear.

bryanleighty 02-14-2007 10:11 AM

check the "whats happening" section.. looks like alex is bringing out his manmade hazard.. hahaha..

BS Skyway is just so sketchy..

but i tell ya.. on a Clean NW or SW wind.. you get out past the channel and you have what seems like MILES of waist deep water. the best flat water riding area by far. so much room and simply perfect to practice all the tricks you want.

get inside the channel and you've got oyster shells, trees, people and naked men in the bushes to deal with.
