I suggest you to buy a new bladder. I really don't think it's a good idea to repair a tear that wide.

You are prolly right, tho i think someone with the skills and a hot iron could fix it....granted it is an SLE and needs more pressure than a C...but its my light wind kite so danger of it blowing again is minimal. On second glance at the hole its only 2" diameter. Anyone else?

This guy does a good job and will refix if his repair doesn't hold. I did fix a 2 inch hole with tear aid and it held. I would call and see what he says. He sells big pieces of tear aid as well.

Was this repair your red Sonic 11M? mine blew in the same spot if you remember seeing my blue sonic........how big was your patch job.....did you use type A or B tear-aid? thanks!

anyone know how i can delete my duplicate post accident?

Wolfie 10-18-2007 08:19 AM

Yeah, it was the 11m sonic. I think the rip was about 2 inces in two directions. Call the Bladder guy to make sure about what kind of tape to use.

This wasn't the one I ripped for you at Cypress was it Wolfie?

I'm not saying this is the recommended way to do it, but I repaired a bladder with a big piece of pool patch for plastic pool liners. I was on vacation and it was all I could find. I glued the patch and then sealed the edges of the plastic. It held and I never replaced the bladder. It was on the leading edge. Again, I'm not saying it is the right or recommended way to do it, but it worked.

No, Chris, the one you helped me destroy was my first kite ever. That was it's first and last ride! Anyone want a 15m liquid force spectrum- just the price of a bladder repair $30 and it is yours.
