FIRST LOOK - II09 Saturday & Sunday
What a fun day! Thank you all who helped make this happen! We had great wind, incredible riding and good times on the beach.
I didn't have a chance to take any pictures, but I'm sure there were lots taken. Maybe you all could put some up. Today we ran course racing: men's and women's, and freestyle. There were some dramatic heats and fantastic finishes...more to come. |
Thanks to Brad, Ray, all the troops, sponsors and RIDERS! What a great day. Here are just a few shots of the action, tons more great images have yet to be looked at and processed. Stay tuned for that.

The guys are running tight. http://www.fksa.org/albums/album383/Ken_JL.jpg Looks like Ken is going for a Miami Vice hair dunk, worth style points! http://www.fksa.org/albums/album383/BP.jpg Billy clears the roof of the Cheaspeake? Close. http://www.fksa.org/albums/album383/JM_up.jpg Jon moves out http://www.fksa.org/albums/album383/dual_IMG_4256.jpg Excellent caliber of riding http://www.fksa.org/albums/album383/Ken_IMG_4323.jpg Ken scoping out the bridge for a jump? Not. Haven't even put in hardly anything from the am course race yet. Lots more to come. |
Here's a few more from yesterday, there are so many more interesting actions shots.
http://www.fksa.org/albums/album383/...ders.sized.jpg Sean moves, prepare for boarders! http://www.fksa.org/albums/album383/DAMO_UP.jpg Damo does what he does so very well, upside down http://www.fksa.org/albums/album383/Melissa_n_Jamie.jpg Melissa and Jamie launch at the same time http://www.fksa.org/albums/album383/Billy_up.jpg Billy passes, the sailboat is a great backdrop and uh prop, if you tangle with it. One guy did, kite only, photos to follow Stay tuned ... |
Heading back for a first look at Sunday. There are hundreds of shots of Saturday and Sunday still to be gone through, more to come on this. First starting out on the equipment. None of these folks are wearing helmets sad to say. Ken with Jimmy Lewis was, must want to stick around for that great kid of his. Something to think about, while you still can.
http://www.fksa.org/albums/album384/...s_IMG_6199.jpg Understand this was Melissa's first time going off a kicker http://www.fksa.org/albums/album384/Billy.jpg Billy passes off the Egypt Pyramid or Temple of Doom, something like that, while Hunter rolls video of the action http://www.fksa.org/albums/album384/andy_up.jpg Andy passes off the kicker as Damo rides back upwind http://www.fksa.org/albums/album384/jon_n_mike.jpg Jon ramps up as Mike watches http://www.fksa.org/albums/album384/Billy_slides.jpg Billy slides as Jon works back. That is Holiday Isle in the back, actually a substantial distance away, no where near as close as it looks http://www.fksa.org/albums/album384/Start.jpg The guys came up with the idea for a dead downwind race with some tacking points to round along the way starting at the sand bar. They're waiting for the start here. http://www.fksa.org/albums/album384/race.jpg They're off! More on the way! |
Thanks to Brad and Seven Sports

Big Ups to Brad for resurrecting the Islamorada Invitational.
It's a great event that attracts good vibes, top riders, and wind as usual. JimmyLewis.com sponsored the first place prize for the Amateur Mens Freestyle event. Sean Reyngoudt stomped an incredible final heat to win a JL Model 3 board. (see attached photo) Thanks to Seven Sports for allowing us to set up a demo station and for carrying the entire JL line of Kite and SUP Boards. We had a great time and will be back soon. I always forget how close Islamorada is to Miami. -Ken http://www.fksa.org/albums/album384/P3072972_1.jpg http://www.fksa.org/albums/album384/P3082988_1.jpg |
