Visiting Marathon over Xmas - Looking for a "wingman" to ride with
Hi,
I'm thinking of driving down to Marathon over Xmas and I'm looking for a place to go and somebody to ride with. I'm an ok rider. In other words, not great, but safe. Not good enough to go riding alone without somebody kinda keeping tabs on me. Also, I don't know the area at all. I've got a lightwind kite and looking for relatively flat water (not surf). Any ideas, suggestions, takers? -- Nicole |

Hello Nicole,
Marathon has some locals spots and still more accessible by boat. I would get in touch with Kevin and Jenny at Above & Below Extreme Ocean Sports in Marathon. They should take good care of you and help you hook up with some riders. You may have some lightwind conditions but also it may honk through while you are visiting. If you can bring along a smaller flat kite, it might serve you well. http://fksa.org/showthread.php?t=6765 |
thanks!
Thanks for the advice. I'm driving down from FWB tomorrow after work. Still trying to figure out how it can be a 12 hour drive when I'm never leaving the state.... Nicole
