If WSW doesn't have leashes, order one from Scott Fears at Extreme Kites and you'll have it the day after you order it. The phone # there is 904-461-9415 This leash setup sounds like bad news and is just an accident waiting to happen. If you won't, meet up with me sometime and I will GIVE you a leash just so you don't endanger the rest of us with that crazy contraption.

Toby...not trying to endanger ANYONE bro. That's why I'm on this forum asking you guys. As usual...I'll take everyone's advise.

I'll thread the rear line through the ring on the leader and attach a second ring to the end of the flying line. These two rings will lock together and I will clip one end of my leash to the second ring and the other side to my harness. Sound safer?

And I can appreciate that you aren't trying to endanger anyone but if that thing only works when you are hooked in, I am telling you that if you can't find a good one, I have one for you to keep our launches safe. The sad truth is, if I said you can't ride because this is our launch and your leash is unacceptable, you would tell me to kiss off and go ride anyway, right? So I am offering you one of my extra leashes instead if you can't find another which it appears you can't, that's all... :D

I drive a blue KIA suv and am out mostly at night on the weekdays. I am always out if it is blowing on the weekends...I'm also 6'6" tall so I am hard to miss. Just approach me and ask about the leash and its yours.

Noob, what you described sounds fine.

Make sure the leash is long enough that it will not pull on that line when the kite is unhooked and your arms fully extended. The leash should stretch, but not actually pull on the line causing the kite to turn.

toby.. he is talking about running from kiteline to his harness.. this will work fine.

my advice on this tho is to get a leash that has clips on both ends.. i kited with a leash like the one you have for about 6 months.. while it is fine to ride with.. if you get a twist or tangle it is a PAIN to adjust on the fly... with a clip lock leash you can quickly unclip and reclip if the leash gets tangled or something.

plus.. never a bad idea to have a spare.

:)

Ok, my bad. Offer still stands. :D

Thanks for the offer toby but I took care of it. I went to a westmarine and purchased a solid ring and some clips. Works great now. Thanks for the advise guys.
