What is going on with board sizes

Hey guys,

I'm Peter from Germany and I'm moving to the Tampa Bay area
in December.
Here in Germany many riders went back to ride longer boards.
What is with you guys? What do you prefer? :?:
Right now I'm riding on a 141 Slingshot SX from 2003.

I'm 6'3" 230#'s and I ride a North 138 Dragon but I would like a bigger board for lighter days. But then again I still suck at kiteboarding

Boards

I have 3 boards, just depends on the day. My favorite board is my 132 UG FLX, but this is my smallest board. I have a FLX UG 152 for mild wind days and a Aggression Barn Door for super light wind days. So just depends what the wind is like. I am 6'2" 200 so I ride small boards to larger boards.

Hey welcome to Tampa Paedda, see you on the beach when you get here!

Thx shogun!
I can't wait to get on the water!
Man, I had a big break!

Well, I want to try a smaller board with a little more flex!
I think something around 128 -130

158 UNDERGROUND MAGIC CARPET
157 UNDERGROUND WAVETRAY (GIRLFRIENDS BOARD)
150 OCEAN RODEO MAKO (JUST GOT IT)
142 UNDERGROUND FLX
134 OCEAN RODEO MAKO (JUST GOT IT)
130 UNDERGROUND WAVETRAY (GIRLFRIENDS BOARD AND ONLY USE IN HURRICANES)

THE MAGIC CARPET IS WHAT I HAVE RIDDEN MOST TO DATE. 6'6" 260 LBS SO I NEED IT MOST DAYS BUT WILL PROBABLY START RIDING THE MAKOS A LOT NOW THAT I HAVE THEM...

I think most people here are moving to short and wide boards... they feel small but have a big range.... except for the three or four really good riders here.. they still ride bottle caps for maximum loading up for jumps.

Yeah, I think the trend in the industry is going towards wider boards for better upwind ability, at least 39 cm. In light wind it's nice to have a board that's not ridiculously long... 130 - 145 cm instead of the old 150 - 170 range. It doesn't feel so tankish.

For a while some of the small boards seemed to be going ridiculously tiny. While they're good for holding down power, they're hard to land on and won't have as much pop. With kites having more depower now, I think people are realizing that a really small board (125 or less) is rarely, if ever, necessary.

Caution redline 122... I'm going to be so sad the day it breaks.

i ride an 06 north jamie 127. I wakeboard with smaller board, so I like this size.
Also, interested in the 07 Naish sol 139

150x45
134x45
138x42

i prefer wider boards, you can use a smaller kite and your not as affected by lulls, (200lb rider)
