Hello from "Newbie"

Hey,

Just stopping by to say hey. Looking into learning. Live up in New Port
Richey. Just bought a trainer land kite (rush 300 pro).

Any advice on instructors, clubs, shops, newbie gear etc...?

Thanks

-Ty

Ty, WatersportsWest in Largo has all the stuff you need. Lessons, gear, used and new. I live in Clearwater, so Largo may be quite a hike for you but I dont know of any other store up your way.
And for the trainer kite, great learn to fly it in the window and stuff but dont fly it too much, I believe it can give you bad habits of not letting go of the bar when it comes down to a real kite. just my two cents.
I can give a number to some of the instructors if you private message me.
Tim

The best thing you can do is get lots and lots of time in flying that trainer. You can not fly it too much. Not letting go of the bar will teach you where to put the kite in the window so that you don't have to let go of the bar. Watch any of the Videos with Top Hat or Felix riding. These guys are flying kites that the center lines don't even go thru the bar or if it does they have it locked off (no depower at all). Letting go of the bar means letting go of the kite. They have mastered flying a kite while being pulled by it. Check these out.
