Visiting from Vancouver, BC

Hi All,

I will be coming to Tampa for a bit of work, and hoping to get in a bit of kiting for the first 2 weeks in May. I saw an article by Rick about florida kiting areas, and there was a link for more local info that pointed here.

I don't see any of the beaches mentioned (East/North/Big) mentioned on ikitesurf, can someone let me know what I should be looking at in terms of a sensor, and perhaps if there is a map somewhere that has the beach locations?

Looking at the wind for Dunedin Causeway, it looks like the wind is fairly light so was going to bring my 16M and 12M kites - does that sound about right?

Thanks in advance.

Peter

Peter,

Here is a very good link for many of our local spots:

http://www.tampabaykiteboarding.com/...aunchsites.htm

Big beach and North beach are both closed to kiters for bird nesting season.

I would bring my biggest kite and board and the 12m, like you said.
The odds of it going higher than 20 knots this time of year are pretty slim. Our coldfronts (I think) are over and it is not hurricane season yet, so we will be relying on NW seabreezes and some East winds in the morning/night.

Chances of 20 plus are slim. Odds of 15 and less are high.

Sensors? Someone else tackle that......

Thanks for the link - just what I was looking for. I'll keep my fingers crossed for wind.
