I think there's some ancient video footage (by Gordon) showing Scotty riding with the Arby's hat, proving that he had inside information of this buyout, years before it happened.Hmmmm
*Free #6 combo for the first one who finds and posts it!

Geez, your memory is probably better than mine. Mine is clouded, but I found a pic.
Anyway... http://www.fksa.org/showthread.php?t...ight=Wendy%27s

Chik fil A is the best, I can't understand why there aren't more around. :) I told Chris the other day that Wendy's food has been getting worse for months.
I hope it turns into Arby's, that'd be great!! No,it would be AWESOME.

and yeah, that's right, I am standing on shore, kite overhead (c-kite) with 1 inch of throw on my bar. :-0~~~
(the good ol' days)

.. and an AWESOME shackle for a QR ..

When kiting was still an extreme sport!

Skyway Scott 05-13-2008 03:37 PM

Extreme mainly because I made it so. I should probably have learned to sheet out before my sixth year riding :)
Why do you think I doctored the image so much? I had to hide all the crap I had set up!!
I had nineteen QRs hooked up in tandem, an EPIRB, three flares, as well as an explosive device in my pocket, should I need to blow up a crab trap or a whale I accidentally got hooked up on..... LOL.

I also taught Donna to ride that way, locked down (no depower).
Ahhh, well. It was fun. Semi amazing she or I didn't get whacked more often. Although I do remember seeing her get whacked a couple times real bad, especially once at EB. I am sure she remembers me getting rag dolled out at Cypress one day in 25 to 40. That was a bad one.
I sort of miss the excitement of full power, but not the unexpected as.s whoopin's.

The pic is close, but only worth a small Frosty!
(BTW, your leash is wrapped also) That was pre-handlepass and spinning leash when they were about 2' long. What, no wrist leash? Your hardcore man!

Surely someone remembers this awesome piece of video besides me... Hmmm
(the video was in '05 or '06)
Stakes raised to a #6 combo- BIGGIE sized, LARGE Frosty!

Tom Stock 05-13-2008 04:54 PM

Not pre-handle pass... they used a suicide leash then ... (the guys who could do them anyway) ... Billy used to ride a pulley bar... now thats a man's bar.

Skyway Scott 05-13-2008 08:57 PM

I remember the video. It was made right after Eagle started teaching.
Bill McLees actually made it. It was pretty good. That was back when we use to really poke fun at one another on Tom's forum. Gordon took the video and superimposed a huge hat on my head. Unfortunately, Bill M. thought he was mocking his video effort... Gordon was simply mocking me. Oh well...

This is the song that was in the original... I love this song and Bill did too. Gordon took it out too and added some "yaka haka hari pari" stuff.

I remember Bayflite ID'd it right off the bat, cuz there was some confusion. I got it confused with the Phil Collins version or sumtin'.
That is going back a ways.

Here is Gordon's best video ever. Remember, this is pre-YouTube and this video had a million hits or so on iFilm (I think it was).
It was by far the biggest kiting video on the 'net at that point in time. He overdid everything on purpose to mock the news, cuz he had just quit working
at a news station. Well, the exaggeration made it a hit!! LOL

This is right when Billy was starting to go from average Joe to superstar.
Jay is on a trainer, AND... Tom is on his big Anomaly board in 35 knots (he use to sleep with it at night).

Feels like all of that was just yesterday...

I remember thinking "omg, five lines? wtf?" one day a few years back... Now I'm so behind with what's new...

Skyway Scott 05-14-2008 05:46 PM

Time is weird that way. I almost feel like the last 10 years went by in one day sometimes. Then, sometimes yesterday seems like a month ago.
I think that is what happens when you get "old" :)
