Weather.com says thur 10-20, and they always low-ball their forecasts so i think its def lookin good so far. Where do u ride on NE?

Keep eyes peeled for a seabreeze too.
Yesterday blew real good for about an hour and a half at the Undertow (from about 3:45 until 5:15) from the WNW then it dropped to about 11 knots.

Then again, maybe it'll blow NE? Who knows. Johnny on the spot type stuff.
I thought yesterday was going to be good from NE starting at 6pm, but the seabreeze (and lack of rain) over powered it.

NE works at the Skyway and Lassing mainly. I think EB is a tad sketchy on NE.

It honked good at Lassing from about 6 til... well... still blowing.
Several of us went to the SW and basically got skunked. Talk about localized wind! :confused: :mad: :( :confused: :confused:

Got skunked a couple times actually. :( Just got home from the skyway, I decided to wait it out and around 10:30 or so, it started blowing east. I was pretty lit and the wind never really seemed to go anything other than east. Ended up being just me, chris, and some sharks. Good times all and all.

I'm ready!!! BRING IT ON!

Does anyone think this light wind will last...like say through saturday?...I WANT TO RIDE ALREADY!!

I might be wrong but I think if you want to ride you better get some tonight, or get out of town. At least til the next storm blows by.

i showed up with tom at 10pm and was powered on a 12m C-kite, hitting 15+ ft kiteloops..... it rocked, i love that kite, cant wait till i get to ride it in the mid 20's......

from like 7:00 till 9:00pm.

I rode a couple miles to spy on you guys from out in the bay and then went back to where I was. MAN... it really cranked on right at 6:30 or so, didn't it!!?

im holding on to my 17m waroo for another season.... might not be the best light wind kite but its close enough not to make me want to spend over a grand to get an extra mph lowend...

now i have an 07 16m torch, 07 12m raven (which jumps like crazy in sub twenty, cant wait to fly it 25+), and soon i should have an 07 8m torch for those 6 or so cold fronts we get that bring 35+ mph, my 9m waroo was a hand full in those winds, but i think double kite loops will be attempted this year...... an ill be way more then 200ft off shore when i do :)

got a few pictures from the beginning of THIS season last night at LP. Tide was way too low for me so i snapped some pics and enjoyed the park with my doggies. You will all be viewing pictures soon...i'll post when they're up. Can we get some wind on sat/sun again please? I wanna play too!

It's gonna crank again tonight. Pretty obvious. As long as we dodge some storms, the wind Gods really want to let it rip.

I'll bring the "trained" circus dog just to add to the mayhem!

Hopefully no one got drilled. It just gusted to 35 at the skyway. The sensor isn't off, it gusted to more than that in my front yard.

Yeah,

I was checking out my 11m Instinct in the yard (knew I was gonna need it) when it REALLY blew for about 5 minutes. The outflow boundary is pretty impressive on doppler (as well as going over your head).
I think it's gonna blow 20 plus for a while :)

just got a report from H. Someone got dragged across the highway. Was wrapping up kite in exit lane southbound. Paramedics showing up.
Luckily no car accidents. Guy was OK I guess.

Whoa, not good! I was hoping no one was on the water when the gust hit, but I had a feeling people would be and was afraid of something like this. I hope whoever it was is ok. If anybody saw what happened, can comment on weather warning signs, etc., please do, so that people can learn from this incident.

Yeah. No big deal. The kite in the Interstate didn't even kill anyone.
DOT is gonna give us at least five more tries to put a kite in the road that actually takes someone out. This is lame how we keep missing the targets.
They are waiting for the "real deal" because the FHP really wants that cameo on the 11 o'clock news with the story entitled "Killer Kite". It's cool to be in the news.
That's gonna take at least 5 months, so just enjoy the ride until then. Heck, if you're lucky, you can be the kiter they interview.

Sounded like this one happened without warning.. sky was clear, no squall line, etc. Just BAM 35 and "O SHIT".

I still recommend crashing the kite in the water as soon as you realize you are waay overpowered ... no need to get dragged 100 yards before you decide to ditch the kite. If it relaunches just crash it again and then release to an outside line if you can.

Does anyone think it might pick up later on today?

Yesterday myself and a few others had a suprise side on from the northwest at indian rocks beach. Ended up doing a downwinder until the storms came through...

Totally unexpected, hopefully it will happen again today...
