Kiteboarding Travel Bag

What is a good one to get and what kind of experiences have you had with yours? Could you list the make and model? Thanx.

i've had this one for about 6 months and it's great. fits two kites (15 and 11) and my board with room to spare. wouldn't be a bad idea to have a suitcase to throw in a wetsuit and pump if needed.

you gotta make a choice first,

do you want everything crammed into one huge rolling deceiving camo heavy weight lifters bag,

or

do you want a few 2-3 small light weight bags???

I've tried both; I prefer to split the load.

In that case I put kites and misc into army duffel bags or equivalents
and put boards into tiny rectangular dakine bags , I never get charged but the last time I traveled was july and the game is changed

I am sure you'll get charged no matter what now....

Not on Southwest! I use a Samsonite paded golf bag I picked up at the out let mall. two kites, harness, pump, bar, board and wetsuit. I think it was $149 when I got it last year.

I have the dakine travel bag. Held everything 2 kites and a board, 133x42 and all my clothes perfectly and no damage either. Could hold 3 kites if you pack your clothes seprate. was like 150 and I wasnt charged any extra over the summer. also came with 2 small lightweight travel bags for your kites.

dakine travel bag..
my board, 3 kites, bars.. filled to 49lbs.

bought a very large duffle style bag w wheels from flea market for 20 dollars and i put all the rest of my gear in there..wetsuits, harness, tools, etc, clothes for the trip....just shy of 50lbs..

all kite gear *would* fit in the dakine bag, but weight is the issue.

If you, or anyone, needs a travel bag for a trip I can rent out mine..

maybe 20$ per loan with the understanding it would be replaced or compensated if it was lost or damaged.

dakine airwagon for sale

I used my dakine airwagon once in august to cabarete and last week to st maarten. Didn't have any trouble since it is under the airlines stated length for extra charge. Some of the guys on the cabarete trip put their gear in golf bags and were asked what was in them. When the attendant looked inside and saw kite gear, they were charged because they were over 50 lbs. (golf bags can go for 70 lbs.) just watch the weight. I made sure with 3 kites, 2 boards, pump & harness, i was under 50 lbs. If you put your gear in the "golf" bag and it is over 50 lbs. And they don't hear clubs rattling, they may ask you what's in it. Maybe throw some kids plastic clubs in there?

I have streamlined my travel gear, so i am selling the dk airwagon for $100.00, almost new, no flaws. If you're interested, post your number and i'll give you a call or have any questions.
