Pre race party
 

It looks like we are going to have the pre race party at Bongos on Saturday October 28th. This will be the cut off date for all registrants to have entry fees paid and waivers signed. 8)

The 2007 TampaBay KiteMasters Pre-Party Celebration is scheduled for Saturday, October 28th at 5PM.

So far we have an unprecedented 80 riders registered for this event which will make this the largest kite race ever held!

This year's party will once again be held at Bongo's Beach Bar at 5800 Gulf Blvd, St Pete Beach.

There is a long list of things that need to be covered for the race including:
*Riders will be given their race cards which must be carried with them on race day
*Start and finish line procedures will be covered
*Safety recommendations
*Self rescue demonstration by local instructors
*Lottery drawing for starting line placement
*Direction sheets, maps, and other necessary info.
*JERSEYS will be handed out to those who prepaid. Extra jerseys will be available but quantities are limited.
*Group pictures will be taken for magazines and other print publications.

ANY RIDERS WHO ARE UNABLE TO ATTEND PLEASE EMAIL ME ASAP.

This years event will be the largest Florida has ever seen. We currently have over 100 registered riders!

Cash and prizes totaling over $10,000 are up for grabs!!!!

This year we are have tons of SWAG and prizes for best HALLOWEEN costume.

We also are raffling off kitesurfing gear so be sure to get there early.
Festivities start at 5 PM. FREE FOOD and BEER while it lasts!!!!!!!!!!

Riders must be there by 6PM. From 6PM to 8PM we will be covering race necessities such as:
- starting and finish line procedures
- self rescue refreshers
- race course and hazards
- race rules and procedures
- pictures for magazine articles

We will be drawing for starting line placement. If you can not attend, a starting position will be drawn for you. Riders will also be receiving their official jerseys and race cards. We have extra jerseys for sale for those who forgot.
This is the last chance for riders who have registered but not turned in their waivers or paid entry fees.

The current forecast is showing 15-22 NW winds which is perfect for riding in front of BONGO'S. Bring your gear and come early for a great expression session.

Yes we are taking payments and waivers at the party. Jersey's are an extra $35.00.

Man, you guys had me all excited... gave me a wristband... I thought it was one of those "under 21 you get black X's on your hands, 21+ you get a wristband." :D

I then found out josh had a wristband too... and I know everyone knows he's under 21 :(

So I decided just to distance myself from the keg before I got any... bad thoughts. :twisted: :P
