Connections to Kiters in Kansas area?

Fellas!

i hope this finds you well with the wind At your back. Recently moved to Wichita and was hoping Rick or others might have some contacts for a community of kiters in the Kansas area.

Miss my time in Tampa with you all.

Be good.

Was wondering what happened to you dude. I put the word out on Facebook but so far, no info for ya.
You may check in with John at Kite Force Academy in Kansas City,Mo. and see if he has any info.

Will let you know if anything turns up.

Take care,

Thanks Steve. Hope all is well my friend. I found a group of about 25 guys that ride out at Lake Cheney.

Will stay in touch as always. Keep up the good work Steve.

Later fellas.

I was going to mention Cheney to you. There are a few other lakes kiters go to around the area as well. The locals will be able to fill you in. They have local websites too, http://kansaskiteboarding.tripod.com/index.html http://www.kitesurfies.com/. Good luck out there!

Thanks Rick. That was exactly what I was looking to find. Seems there may be a group a couple dozen kiters in Kansas.

Thanks again fellas and enjoy the Florida sun for me.

You are welcome. I have communicated with some kiters from the area over the years via email. It took me a while to locate the links. Just don't fall victim to terminal wind lust out there. Some guys look at supercell squalls bringing twisters to tornado alley as riding opportunities!? Strange and it was true for a few a couple of years ago, I hope they have learned to avoid that sort of thing. More at http://www.fksa.org/showthread.php?p=49518#post49518

I've been off the water a few weeks but looks like the unimaginable happened Saturday. Prayers go out to his wife and family. Very well patrolled group. Safety is a main concern so I have nothing to add but my condolensces...
