inferno 10-11-2007 06:54 AM

forecast isnt looking very good right now, but at least its low tide ate 7:30am..... right raul???

Skyway Scott 10-11-2007 07:45 AM

The seabreeze has been pretty good the last couple of days.
I am gonna hope for it again today about 4 or 4:30 (fingers crossed).

I bet Saturday and Sunday late afternoon are decent for that East wind (maybe the morning too, just seems the late afternoon is a lot more dependable). :)

Was there a seabreeze over on your side at all the last couple of days, Raul?

Skyway Scott 10-11-2007 08:28 AM

Popeye, clear your inbox

No, wierdest thing. there hasn't

usually dry weather like this it does ; but then this has been the wackiest year for wacky wind in years.........

Skyway Scott 10-11-2007 10:14 AM

Yep. Whacky.

I guess it might blow in the a.m. Who knows?

Thing is though, the dawn patrols have been lame for so long, I don't even give them much consideration anymore. Definitely different than just 3 years ago when the dawn patrol was commonly the best wind you could get (solid 20 to 25), til about 9 am, anyway.

I think I am gonna drive North tomorrow and hope for a reasonable NNW in the afternoon at the beach.

popeye 10-11-2007 10:30 AM

sorry i cleared it...

thats my view point, if i can ride my 12m Ckite on my small board at 200lbs.... its a good day :)

Skyway Scott 10-12-2007 12:01 PM

I got there late, but was LITT on my 15m for about 45 minutes in 15 plus.
Trying to do handlepasses on a litt 15 Hyper isn't do-able (not for me, anyway).
Great weather for sure.

Raul was right, I was wrong. I know that makes BigR's day.

BigR 10-12-2007 12:44 PM

Scott, I don't really care who forecasts the wind better ,

Actually, I hope we are both right and there is wind day and night all the time

but , I think it'll be windy early tommorow and sunday and monday,

I've been wrong before and it sure won't be the last time ..

Anything more is extra pudding on the pizza

Kev 10-13-2007 08:34 AM

yeah! Looks like it's going to be good but I'm in town so don't get too excited.
So Scoot is it going to be better in the morning tomorrow or in the afternoon????

Skyway Scott 10-13-2007 11:50 AM

That answer depends largely on when you will be there :) (just kidding)

If forced to choose a time frame on East wind, I always put my bets on late afternoon, you know that.
Not to say it won't blow all day (who knows?), but late afternoon until sunset and night riding almost never fails on Easts.

Early afternoon is the worst bet, but it might happen, I guess.

Hey Kev, I spent ALL morning learning to ride blind. I actually went 50 yards once before eating it. :)
It definitlely is an odd feeling and weird learning curve.

inferno 10-13-2007 12:54 PM

scott, were you going unhooked or hooked...

Kev 10-13-2007 01:48 PM

Scott. That's Excellent! are you popping into it? We'll see tomorrow hopfully. Once you dride that way for a bit it is really easy just like riding toe side. Are you still wearing that seat harnes though. That makes it much harder... Hopefully I'll see you tomorrow. Maybe I'll plan on riding the whole day!!!! I need to work on my handle passes.

Skyway Scott 10-13-2007 03:49 PM

Not unhooked (duh... today was first day I even tried... not gonna try it unhooked).

Yeah. Seat harness. Unfortunately, my back kills me when I wear a waist harness. I might start wearing one for an hour or so when I ride. I can't wear one much more than that without low back pain.
I was ollie hopping into it.
It does put a lot of strain on the harness and spreader, I can tell you that.
I snapped the spreader in two!!
Good thing Randy and Cindy have gear out there to buy.

Kev 10-14-2007 06:07 AM

yep - the waist harness works a little better just because it slides around a little.

anyway, I guess this afternoon looks better than this morning now. only reading 12-13 currently......

BigR 10-14-2007 06:17 AM

I think it'll soon pick up

( unless Kevin shows up )

Kev 10-14-2007 06:32 AM

I'm going to wait a bit so you may be right. but accuweather doesn't show it picking up until about 3pm.
