Training to be a Coach
 

Hey,

I just got a job as a kiteboarding coach for the new year. I applied for the job last week, interviewed Tuesday and got the job! I'm really stoked because now I get to ride all the time, its part of my JOB... and ride the newest equipment for free!!! Now I'm trying to figure out where I can go train for a month before I start my new coaching position starting in March. Anyone have suggestions as to where the best place to go in February would be. Looking for flat water mainly, good wind and maybe a little wave riding... give me your suggestions!

Tom Selleck - I met with the head coaches last year, on a trip in the fall to hatteras. I went to their website in the beginning of January and emailed my resume in... thats most of the details. I say go for it... I'm stoked!

I rad there site and it says that they charge like 100 bux an hour, how much will I get for me? Thay got a persentige or somthing?
Where do we sleep? I saw the lockers thing, but it didnt say nothin about no rooms.
BTW, did you get to meet Mat and Trip while your their? I got all their tapes man! Hell I didnt need no lessons after I saw them tapes, them dudes are good!
I just gotta know Man, are there lots of chicks up there or what?

Awww come on, we were just toying with Raley. It was kinda obvious from the start that there is someone from REAL on the other end...And VOILET man is 100% correct in the fact that REAL KITEBOARDING is "hurtin' for certain" after their recent actions towards kiters everywhere. I have NO doubt that they need instructors, because anyone qualified to be an instructor has more sense than to tarnish their own good name working for a bunch of snakes.
If you notice, Raley said that he met them last year and was hired over the phone/internet, and we ALL know that is not healthy for our sport. Also notice my signature, should be a dead giveaway to anyone that they were being toyed with...
The fact that they have invaded BVI's local spots is totally inexcusable, and their lack of regard for ANYONE's spot, other than theirs, is duly noted. If they tried that in my area, they would probably get their ass kicked.(OR, an air strike by "Air Popeye's" R/C Jet Plane! No worries, REAL has started their own downward spiral from the top, and now they are feeling it.
As if living in an epic spot in the U.S. and running an overly sucessful kite biz wasn't enough, they have to try to use intimidation tactics and legal bullshizz to beat down their competition. They have been kings of the industry in the U.S. for a very long time, and get to kite much more often that ALL of us, and this is what they do with it....SICKENING....( I have heard estimates of 8-10,000 a week in lessons)
If thats what epic conditions does to a person, I don't want it. Give me my light wind and waiting on the beach with my friends ANY DAY!!! Appreciation for the sport and your fellow kiters is what its all about, not who's on top.
