Sub 45 degrees sucks.
Sleep in and drink hot cocoa. :) Lots of hints in this image that it is gonna be cold. "Heating Tips" is my favorite. |
yeah but onshore is close to shore so if ya get cold just come in and to the car heater
I never said it wouldn't freeze, just who might go............ |
I may be up for it since I missed today. I don't know about DP though. the drive is too long for rush hour. anyone else heading out tomorrow a little later in the morning?
ya , too cold. maybe later............
wimp
I've never ever seen the tide sooo low in tampa bay, there is barely any water in the canal back of my house:o
that means south side would be a lot of fun. right?
you won't have many options with no water @ Skyway
so when are you going to head out?
afternoon I guess
Thank's what I was thinking too.
OH MY HEAD....IS IT COLD!!!!!!!!!!! I think if I going to ride today I will leave my house is my drysuit. OUCH!
So for those of you that were riding down south in the bay yesterday....when does the tide fill in if at all? |
not till the very end of the day.... if at all....
It was really, really low. It never filled in much.
I think a strong N wind pretty much blows it out of the bay. It is cold. Did anyone go out today? My personal enjoyment limit is 45 degrees. If it's not more than that I don't go out. If I lived up north I would get use to it, but this is FL. :) |
Doug did some recon this morning. South SW no good....no water. Everywhere else no water. SW North has some water left of the flat. Were gonna hit it for a few hours. Blowin around 25+ he said.

Of course there's water! what recon meant to say is there is a sand beach as opposed to NO BEACH . this place always works best with the least amount of water All you gotta do is walk out to the water, gives you much more room to launch and land at low tide In any case, looks like its gone NE now anyways, SWS works best on N or NNE |
yep.. ssw w/o water is really the only way you can ride there..
Just watch out for the sunken dump truck and pile of rebar 100 yards out!
I'm kidding but only a little. |
Surprise Raul....you caught us at the southside. Had the place all to ourselves for 3 hours. It absolutely rocked!!!!!! Lit out of our minds on 10M.
Was absolutey toasty in my Gul drysuit which is killer by the way because you can take a pee without having to take any of it off. Zip in the front from shoulder to well....you can figure it out. Lovin the SB3!!!!! That is four killer days this week. We needed it after Nov/Dec. |
well I was completely toasty in my neil pryde drysuit..........except for the chink in my armour, I forgot my gloves and my hands got numb after 40 minutes then the pain went got too much and had to come in. a fun hour tho'. you should have seen the north part of the island way upwind. butter smooth flat forever with much cleaner wind
Yeah man....I saw you up there and had me curious for sho.
I ended up at N SW. It was excellent there too. Not a lot of water but plenty of room on the outsides. there were like 6 other guys there too. I was out for about 2 hours before the hands got too cold to keep going. 9's and 11's were the kites to be on.
