Me too

Yeah being stuck in the office sucks! Hopefully the wind will keep blowing for tomorrow! (Most likely not, but i am hoping!)

Brothas and Sistas!! have fun I'm in the office till 1700. Be safe! until the next one.

sigh..... stuck in the office too. I'm feeling as though I might be coming down with something though and may become "sick" Mon. and/or Tues.

Monday Night
North winds around 15 knots. Seas 3 to 5 feet. Bay and inland waters choppy. A slight chance of showers in the evening.
Tuesday
North winds 15 to 20 knots. Seas 3 to 5 feet. Bay and inland waters choppy.

I felt kind of "sick" today, but I knew we were going to be severely under staffed and did the right??? thing.

Speaking of sick, that was a sick session. 20 kites at East Byatch, I rode at Backside instead and cruised over to East Byatch with Jayson, Chris Moore, Gary, and a few others, showed everybody at East Byatch how to hold shit down, then charged back over to Backside.

After a few hours of that, had to wrap it up, charge DcMonalds and scarf a Big Mac.

Hell, yeah!

Yep, It was windy. Started off REALLY windy (spiked to 30 on Donna RIGHT as we launched her at 11 am, unfortunately), then died, then BAM, solid wind again.

Bayflite let several people demo the Mako today. Several people including Donna and I rode the 134. http://oceanrodeo.com/makopro.php

That board is definitely worth a demo ride, imo. It screams upwind (better than my custom UG 137) and feels exceptionally smooth in the chop (I am talking it cuts like butter). It also carves very well. It's a smooth ride. I don't know about being a dedicated trick board, but most of us aren't dedicated tricksters, anyay.
Anyway, I was impressed with it and Donna really loved it, too.
I was surprised by it's low end and how well it shot upwind considering its dimensions.

Nice day out there today, for sure.

Mako

Uh-huh...OR Makos...like butter... :D

The Mako was certainly an interesting board. I would really love to try it on a day with waves in the gulf. It holds a lot of power down for the big jumps!

Skyway Scott 01-05-2007 07:20 PM

Yeah,

Riding it in combo with an Instinct made for such a smooth ride it was like having shocks on the water and a gust muncher in the sky. That's pretty neat, but some might think it takes away from the "experience" of kiteboarding.

Obviously guys like Jay and Billy will always keep this sport extreme, but otherwise, wakeboarding is more extreme than kiting with today's equipment, imo (and that's fine with me).

bayflite 01-05-2007 07:34 PM

gust muncher :)
that's awsome.
i'm stealing that frayz
i'll b using it alot
thanks bro.

Ozone coined it. Donna and I kept trading that kite on and off today. I guess some people were getting confused about the one kite for two riders deal.
She just told me she heard this alot today ----
"But he looks LITT on that, you were just on the same kite?"
BTW, You were looking pretty frickin' good today. :) :p
