Don't forget the jewelery.

Theme song? I'm thinking more along the lines of "Bite It You Scum" by GG Allin.

Yeah Donna was looking good. When I pulled up I thought it was Scott out there doing inverted back rolls, but then I saw Scott standing on the beach. Way to go Donna!

What the heck was that E-Bone, an affiliate id!?

Are you trying to cash in and make money on your little pink hello pony trademark?

Thanks Tom!
I was pretty pumped up! Definitely a sweet day for me!

Time to try a front roll
:D

Front rolls are easier if you learn from off of the opposite foot that you do backrolls from. So if you do back rolls with left foot forward, to front rolls with right foot forward... this way you are spinning the same direction for both.

They are easy.. dont forget to redirect with the opposite hand!

yeah somewhat true tom, but riding switch i'm HORRIBLE

if shes not good at riding switch it would probably be just as tricky.

Every one is different on this stuff.
It's harder for me switch, too, Josh.

"Back in the day" most of us learned front rolls first, then backrolls. It was mainly because there were only a few of us, and Bill Carr was nailing fronts alot and we watched him and copied him.

I think fronts are easier because the redirect of the kite matches what your body is doing. However, it is a blind landing.
The backroll itself is easy, but it seems odd to direct the kite opposite of your rotation, hence the accidental kite loops I see over and over when people first start.
Either way, these are both fun.
I think Donna might get the front roll next time out. At that point, I will only have 1 more trick than her. Oh well. :D

ya.. the redirect of the kite is what threw me (litterally) at first.. now i just focus on the forward hand and ensure to only bring the kite back far enough to jump and then begin moving it forward.. timing is still hit and miss sometimes, but i can tell when I am about 1/2 way around if i am going to land it. i need to start trying double backs and fronts..

and start throwing a quick back or front in the middle of a big jump like i see a bunch of riders do..

screw the kiteloops.. ill work those out next season maybe.. got lots of variations on the rolls to dial in.

cool thing with bows is that when your in the air and realized you jumped to high and your going to over rotate, you have two options.... you can pull in the bar to slow your decent and rotate twice or what i mostly do is let the bar out some half way through the jump so i come down fast enough to only do one rotation...
i love bow kites
